Freezer-Friendly Recipes

World’s Easiest Christmas Candy Recipe

We have a yearly tradition of making this Christmas Candy. It’s the easiest stuff ever to make, it is inexpensive and it’s addicting! I originally found the recipe in the book Queen of the Castle: 52 Weeks of Encouragement for the Uninspired, Domestically Challenged or Just Plain Tired Homemaker. It was called “Crookies” in there, but we’ve re-named it “World’s Easiest Christmas Candy.”

Whole-Wheat Chocolate Chip Pancake Recipe

We love pancakes at our house! However, I don’t really love the sugar-high and sticky mess which comes along with drenching them in syrup (which my children enjoy doing!). So I found them if we sprinkled in some chocolate chips, the mess and sugar was reduced because the chocolate chips eliminate the need for syrup! Here’s our family favorite recipe which we’ve made time and again. It was originally tweaked from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook.

Pumpkin Carrot Cake Muffins

Guest Post by Katie from goodLife {eats} When I first saw Crystal and Jessica talking about freezer cooking, I shied away from it. I made excuses: That’s not for me. I don’t have a big freezer. I like being spontaneous and creative in the kitchen. I don’t have time to cook a whole month’s meals at once, nor did I want to. Being a food blogger, I wanted to be able to cook on my own schedule and as I was inspired.

Southwest Roll-ups

My sister-in-law brought all the chicken pre-cooked and chopped for the Freezer Cooking Day, which saved us lots of time and effort. We used it to make a few of the recipes–including one of our favorites, Southwest Roll-ups. This recipe is so simple, uses inexpensive ingredients, and freezes really well.

Brown Sugar Biscuit Twists

This recipe is one of our family’s very favorite recipes. I originally adapted it from an old, falling-apart Better Homes and Gardens bread cookbook my mom had when we were growing up. I’ve made these countless times and they are so easy to do and so yummy! We like to serve these fresh out of the oven on Christmas morning. They are also great paired with an Egg, Ham, and Cheese casserole and fruit for a simple Christmas brunch.
