Can you explain the chicken gravy over rice? Is it just gray and rice or is there meat with it? Thank you!
Brigette Shevy says
I saute cubed chicken in butter in a large saucepan (this can be raw, canned, leftover chicken or turkey, etc). Obviously if it’s raw, saute it until it is cooked. You could also saute diced onions and garlic along with the chicken if you like them. My family doesn’t like “chunks.” 😉 Then I stir in some flour and whisk until simmering and lightly browned (you can take the chicken out temporarily while you’re doing this, or just be lazy and leave it in like I do!). Next I add a combination of milk and water and whisk until I get the right gravy consistency. Add seasonings to taste (garlic powder, onion power, salt, pepper, basil, etc) and serve over brown or white rice, mashed potatoes, cooked pasta, or whatever else you can come up with.
Anna says
Could you share your venison roast in the crockpot recipe? Mine always tend to be dry without a lot of flavor. Thanks!
Julie says
Cook it with butter, real butter. It will change your life. I put 1/2 to a whole stick in mine depending on how big it is. Gamey meat has no fat to make it juicy, this does the trick.
Brigette Shevy says
Exactly what she said! I also personally have the best success using a Crock-Pot to cook it in.
