My Book is Now Available In-Stores Nationwide! Buy a Copy & Get a $10 Starbucks Gift Card!

Buy My Book In-Store & I'll Buy You Coffee

Last week, a number of you went to your local stores to purchase my new book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, and couldn’t find it. My publisher discovered that many of the shipments of books were delayed due to all the weather issues last week.

I am so sorry that some of you made a special trip to your store(s) just to come up empty-handed! 🙁 Because of this, we decided to extend the Starbucks gift card offer — and to double it to a $10 Starbucks gift card instead of just a $5 Starbucks gift card!!

So here’s how it works: if you buy a copy of my book in-store, take a picture of yourself with the book at the store, and post the picture on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, or your blog, I’ll send you a $10 Starbucks gift card!

I know that buying from a bookstore isn’t always as convenient as ordering online, but it really makes a HUGE difference to authors… because the number of books sold in stores determines how many books a store carries and where they display the book in-store.

So if you’re planning to purchase a copy of Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, I’d love for you to consider buying it at your local store. And I’d love to send you a $10 Starbucks gift card as a thank you. 🙂

How to Get Your Free $10 Starbucks Gift Card

1. Go to your local store and find a copy of my new book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode. (It should be available at some Sam’s Club stores, at all Barnes & Noble stores, plus at most Books-A-Million & Mardel stores, and many other local and Christian retailers)

2. Take a picture of yourself with the book at the store.

3. Post the picture on social media — Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or your blog.

4. Fill out the form below. And that’s it! You’ll receive a $10 Starbucks gift card from me in the mail within 4-6 weeks.

This offer is valid through Wednesday, February 5, 2014. You can combine this offer with the FREE Mind Organization for Moms Offer to get even more bang for your buck!

Note: If you found the book in-store last week and filled out this form, we’ll be sending you a $10 Starbucks gift card, too!

That’s awesome! I tried last week but I will definitely try again! So excited to get this book in my hands. Hope.

  • stacey says:

Do I have to buy this by today, Jan. 30th, to get the Mind Organization For Moms program as well? Or will I still be able to get that until Feb 5th?

  • Turner says:

Oh men..What about those of us who bought it online:(
Either way, I am advertising your book on my blog footer section where it says recommended books!

  • Leslie Brown says:

Bummer. I went last Saturday to Barnes and Noble and they didn’t have it In store, so I ordered it online. Waiting for its arrival.

  • Kala says:

Boo! My Barnes and Noble didn’t have it, so I ordered from Amazon on the price drop. I can’t imagine anything that could be more perfect than reading this book along side a free Starbucks haha. Can’t wait for it to get here!

    • Did you drive to your store to check and not find it there? If so, I want to send you a $10 Starbucks gift card for your trouble. Email your mailing address to

      • Kala says:

Yes, I did! They actually still didn’t have it when we were there yesterday either! Nor, at our local Sam’s club. If the weather peps up, it’ll be here in a couple days says Amazon. Can’t wait to review it on my blog! Also, were we suppose to receive a confirmation email about the dayspring calendar? Just want to make sure I filled out my voucher correctly. Thanks for offering all these amazing perks. Love your blog.

        • No, you’ll just receive the calendar within 4-6 weeks. They should be shipping them out within the next two weeks, if not sooner. If you don’t get it within 4-6 weeks, email me and we’ll make sure to ship you another.

          Thanks SO much!

So bummed to miss this offer! I’m a huge Starbucks fan! My family and I drove an hour to the nearest B&N during your previous offer only to have them tell me they only had one copy in store-and it was being held for someone. Since I wasn’t going to be able to drive that distance again within the timeframe of your offer, I came home and ordered it off amazon. It it scheduled to arrive tomorrow after a 2-day delay due to weather. Still so excited to read your book- thanks for your ministry to us moms!! 🙂

  • Chrissy says:

I’ve been calling around. I can’t seem to find it in stores…boo 🙁

  • Chris says:

What a nice offer! I have a newborn, and a three year old so I don’t get out much! Lol, but I hope to soon to see if I can find your book. I need it! I am in survival mode, big time!

  • carrie says:

Thanks so much for the offer. I already had a digital copy but got my hardcover today. I reserved it first on the site so it was ready at the checkout. I find that having a real copy in my hands makes the info more meaningful for me. Plus I read great books with a pen 😉

  • Dawn Bax says:

I have been to my Barnes and Noble twice and they don’t have it in stock. I am going to go ahead and order online today and I don’t want to wait anymore! 🙁

  • Jennifer says:

I was hoping to take advantage of this offer so I used Barnes & Noble’s reserve online, pick up in store option. Unfortunately, the in-store price is $22.99 and the online price (through Barnes & Noble) is $13.92. Although I’d love to see you get more shelf space and support you through my local B&N, I think I’ll order online and save myself the trouble of packing up the kids in the cold weather. Sorry! If you have any pull with B&N, perhaps you could pass along a suggestion to have similar pricing online and in store?

    • I know! It’s frustrating that they can’t have the same prices in-store as they offer online. I think it may be because they often offer coupons for in-store purchases so they allow for this in their pricing.

  • destini jackson says:

None of my local book stores have it in stock 🙁 Books a million said they didnt know when/if they would eb getting it and they were not very nice either. My husband checkedvout the barnes and noble in st augastine and they didnt have it either. So i just right ordered from amazon as I cant get back into town to check back next week. 🙁 But I cant wait to read it.

  • Stephanie says:

I went to Barnes n noble tonight and they didn’t have it, I ended up ordering it online at amazon 🙁

  • M H says:

My Barnes and Noble did not have a copy in stock so i ordered it from amazon with 2 day shipping… can’t wait.

  • Susan Damron says:

I went to SAMs after checking to see if they had your book. My daughter and I searched each table and even in the boxes under the table with no luck. I then went ot a local Christian book store (Perfect Peace) the next day and they did not have it either. I finally resorted to ordering it yesterday from Amazon and I a anxiously awaiting my copy. My daughter ( a mom o 3 little ones) has not been able to get her hands on a copy yet. It has been quite a week trying to buy this book. Too bad we couldn’t get it in the store here in Wichita. Starbucks on a cold day with your book sounded great! I can’t wait to get started. My daughter will have to wait till next paycheck to order hers now. She is kinda sad since she was really looking forward to the organizational package as well. Thank you for your site and all of your great tips!

    • Email and we’ll make sure to send you a $10 Starbucks gift card for your trouble! And if your daughter can email in, we’d love to give her access to the Mind for Moms program, too, once she gets her book.

And Family Christian Store still had some in Wichita… at least a few days ago.

  • Susan Damron says:

I went to SAMs and Perfect Peace I. Search of your book and was disappointed that it was not available. I finally resorted to getting it off Amazon and am waiting it now. I was gonna try to get the Starbucks offer along with my purchase. I am looking forward to digging in as soon as my book arrives! Thank you for all you do!

  • S Damron says:

My daughter and I checked online at our local SAMs and were pleased to find that they had your book in stock a few days ago. We went to purchase it only to find they did not have it after all. We searched each table and even in the boxes under the tables. The next day I went to our local Christian book store (Perfect Peace) only to find they too did not have it. I finally resorted to buying it online from Amazon. My daughter (a young mom of 3) will now have to wait until another paycheck to get hers. (The baby had to go to the doctor) and she is kinda sad since she was looking forward to getting the organization package. It has been difficult to say the least to purchase your book, but I am looking forward to its arrival soon. Too bad I couldn’t get the Starbucks card. Thanks for all you do and your wonderful site!

  • Cheri Sheehy says:

I went to our local Books a Million last sunday to take advantage of the dayspring offer and the $5 starbucks gift card. I was disappointed when they didnt have it and didnt know when theyd get it, so i ordered online while at the store. When i got home i emailed you to let you know it wasnt available at my local BAM so you could let your publisher know. Amy replied back to tell me i could get dayspring yet, but had to purchase book in store to get $5 gift card-wasnt possible since they didnt have it:(. I got my book yesterday and cant wait to start reAding it!

  • Jen says:

I went last Friday the 24th to Books A Million in Florida and they said they would not receive it until tomorrow. They have my name and number and they will call me when it is in so I can go back to purchase it. I can’t wait to read it. I have birthday money burning a hole in my pocket allocated for the book. Thanks Crystal.

  • Heather says:

They were in my stores today – Barnes & Noble said they just got them in this morning. B&N in-store price was $20 and Books a Million in-store price was $22. Unfortunately at those prices, I’ll just have to get mine online, but I wanted to post the prices here in case others wanted to know what they were.

  • Yolanda says:

I went to my local Barnes & Noble store today in New Hartford, NY and they did not have your book. The manager said they were not planning on getting any in stock, either 🙁

  • Kim says:

I must say you are one popular woman 🙂 ….cause I cannot find your book in stock at a store anywhere near me, went to Sam’s and to B&N tonight. I’m really excited to read, truly sounds like it could really help me out…divorced, work full time with 2 kids.. I will try in store again next week since you stated it does help you out, hopefully it will be there, but I’m anxious to read… guess I will spend more time reading your past blog posts… 🙂 You truly are an inspiration…. Congrats on your success!!

  • Maria says:

Aww man 🙁 I had to order on Amazon because B&N did not have your book in stock tonight in Dallas. I loved your Guide to Freezer Cooking, so very much looking forward to reading this!

  • Allison says:

I purchased your book at Barnes and Noble and I am loving it! However, I do not participate in social media. I find that it was one extra thing that often took too much of my time. Would I still be eligible for the Starbucks:)

  • Dana says:

I am so excited to read your book. I saw the positive review from Andy Andrew’s page…which is an honor from him! Our Sam’s Club didn’t have your book in stock. I called Mardel and they had one left. 🙂 They held it for me and I now have it in my hands to read! Thanks for the amazing information on your website. I can’t wait to read what you have to share to help us out.

  • Melissa says:

Barnes and Noble, Highland Village, TX had the book! Woo Hoo!

  • Jen says:

Can I still get the mind for moms program- I hope to purchase the book from amazon today if I can convince my hub!!!

  • Jennifer A says:

I was so excited I found your book at B&N. Now I just have to find time to read it! Thank you 🙂

  • Trisha says:

When I fill out the form to get a $10 Starbucks card, it keeps saying there is a problem with the URL I pasted from my Facebook page. Can you help???

  • Kesa Ennen says:

I want to read your book now more than ever…I’ve tried 2 Sams Club and 1 Barnes and Noble this week and everyone is still sold out. It must be amazing!

    • We’re hoping Barnes & Noble gets in another shipment of books this week — most are sold out right now!

Did you check your local Christian bookstores? You might call and see if they have it in stock.

If they don’t, email me your mailing address and I’ll send you a copy.

  • Diane says:

Bummed cause I checked the local Christian bookstore on Saturday, February 1, and they didn’t have any. I really don’t want to try and make the drive again. It must be an awesome book!

    • Diane says:

Do you know if the Family Christian Bookstores are carrying it now, cause they didn’t have any copies last weekend? Thanks!

      • They should all be carrying it, but some stores may be sold out right now. I’d recommend calling them before making a special trip.

We’re working on getting more shipments sent to the stores but the weather in some parts of the country has been delaying things.

  • Katie says:

My B&N bookstore is a smaller store so they had to order it for me. So I posted a picture of my receipt instead of the book. I hope that’s okay! I can’t wait to read your book!!

  • Cheryl says:

Hey Crystal! Bought your book and can’t wait to read it, but also looking forward to the Starbucks card! Unfortunately I’ve attempted on my computer and phone several times with each and it keeps popping up that my url is not valid. What should I do?

  • Diana says:

Your blog is wonderful. I went to B&N twice and they did not have the book. I also called a Christian store and they did not have the book either. I just ordered the book through Amazon. Hopefully I will get the book soon.
