Baby D is doing SO well! He’s almost completely recovered from his cleft palate surgery other than still needing to only only have purees and not being able to put anything else in his mouth.
But it’s amazing the difference it makes that he can hear now and talk more because his mouth is fixed!
We got to babysit Champ twice while his mama worked last week! As you can tell, he and Kierstyn are very excited to be together!
They just can’t stop hugging each other!
Every time I see these two together, I just think of what a gift that we get to still be involved in Champ’s life. We love this boy so very much!
Baby D had just had a bath — look at all his hair!!
Silas decided he wanted to try making 3-ingredient ice cream using a recipe found on YouTube that took whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate chips.
I was so impressed with how it turned out!
It was pretty sweet, so you don’t want to eat a huge serving of it! But for three ingredients, it was a big success!

Hello Crystal. It’s so good to hear baby D is thriving.
God bless your family during this time. I walked down a similar path with my adopted son.
While he has been in therapy for most of his life….he’s five and a half……he’s a fighter and I can tell you that as a mom God gives you the strength and endurance to stand by your child and to help them with their battles.
God is with you. You are blessed for strength for every medical situation that comes Baby D’s way.
You child will overcome. Mine has for many things. We are still in an uphill battle but it has humbled me and I stand in awe of God’s power. When I am weak he is strong.
God bless you.

He’s just such a gift to our home and we are SO proud of how far he has come in the 8 months he’s been with us! We can’t wait to see what God has for him in the future. His life is a true miracle for so many reasons and we feel beyond blessed to get to be part of it!
