We’re in Arkansas this week for our annual vacation at the lake with extended family. It’s kind of our “last hurrah” before our Fall school schedule begins in two weeks.
In order to be realistic, I only set six easy goals for this week:
Last week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals
1. Start and finish reading Stuart Little aloud to the children.
2. Continue with swimming lessons for all three children.
3. Write a love note to Jesse.Personal Goals
4. Start and finish reading
The Simplicity of Homeschooling, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and The Mom Walk.5. Sleep for at least 7.5 to 8 hours every night. {Totally bombed this one, but most of it had to do with staying up watching the Olympics! That’s worth losing sleep for, in my opinion! :)}
6. Exercise at least five times.Homemaking Goals
7. Start working on planning out our Fall Schedule.
8. Try at least two new recipes.Business Goals
9. Finish editing my new ebook (more details coming soon!)
10. Projects finished for LitFuse Publicity campaign.
Here are my 10 goals for this week:
Family/Mothering Goals
1. Finish reading Stuart Little aloud to the children.
2. Enjoy our vacation with extended family at the lake in Arkansas.
Personal Goals
3. Start and finish reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The Life You’ve Always Wanted, and The Mom Walk.
4. Exercise at least five times.
Homemaking Goals
5. Type up our new Fall Schedule.
Business Goals
6. Write at least two articles for other blogs/sites.

I just started thinking I should post my goals online publicly to see if that will hold me more accountable to attain results. However I only posted about my blogging and business type goals. After reading this, I am thinking next week that I will add in some more personal and family goals.
Great post.

Crystal,
I love watching the Olympics, too! Can’t even remember how much sleep I’ve lost over the years keeping up with all the sports but at least it’s only once every couple of years, right? 🙂
Have a wonderful vacation!

This week we are getting back to a more normal schedule. I have big plans to start a quilting project. I also want to get back into doing some exercise and eating less at night. With all stress I slipped back into eating too much so I need to correct that. I am also starting to write a cleaning series I want to get started later this week.
Hope you have a wonderful vacation.

Enjoy your vacation!
This is one instance where I’m glad we have a DVR. It has saved me some late nights watching the Olympics!

So smart to limit your goals during vacation week! I plan my big goals monthly, so I’ve added my August goals.

I know what you mean about staying up to watch the Olympics! I kept thinking I’d be fine with less sleep, but being pregnant, my body thought otherwise. I woke up one day 20 minutes before I was supposed to be at work! I’m trying to be a little smarter about it this week.

Hope you have a great vacation with family. We start school next week, but it is already looking like the first month with be very on again off again due to grandparents visiting and a few other events planned.

Goals for this week:
Sewing, sewing, and more sewing!
I’m making new dresses for my girls. I learned how to honeycomb smock today, which was fun! Now I’m interested in learning Italian smocking for a birthday dress for my oldest, but that dress isn’t on this week’s sewing list. This week I’m working on everyday dresses and a church dress for my oldest. I’m going to have a to learn a new pattern for the church dress as well.
It should be around 110º this week, so sewing inside under a fan is where I want to be!
