It’s Day #9 of the 500 Things Decluttering Challenge and today we were supposed to be working in our family rooms.
Since we don’t really have a family room, I decided to spend time in some other parts of the house that need some TLC. So I went through our bedside tables, as well as our DVDs and CDs.
And would you know it?! I came up with 79 items to get rid of!!!!
Today’s total: 79 items decluttered
Total for the entire challenge: 407 items so far!
I’m keeping a running total of all my items decluttered during this challenge as I thought it would be fun to not only do Daily Totals but also Overall Totals.
How many items did YOU declutter today?? Leave a comment and let us know.
P.S. You can read more about the Decluttering Course I’m going through here. If you’d like to join me in going through it in January and get the videos, information, and printables every day, you can go here to purchase and get it for just $5.99 right now!

Trying to keep up! A sick baby has put things on hold, but I’m trying to hit 350 by the end of this week.

I may have just found this challenge, but I’m past 500 items. I wasn’t counting as I cleaned out, so I’m not sure exactly how many total items. I do know we have taken (stuffed full) 10 1/2 bags to the thrift center in this last week. And that’s just from my husband’s clothes. You should have seen his face when I suggested we do this clean out. He looked sick! Now, he feels great about doing it and he found things he had misplaced and had been looking for for a long time.
I don’t have a family room so I’m on to the closet!

That’s awesome! 10 1/2 bags of clothing is a wonderful blessing for the thrift store!

My son had that same Lego box. When he wasn’t using it, I commandeered it. It is perfect for holding pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, sticky notes, etc when I go work at the library or in a coffee shop. Not exactly decluttering, but it did prevent me from having to go buy something else.

I love it! Repurposing the Lego gear. 🙂

447 things today for a total of 1,485 since I started. Getting worn out now but also can’t stop as I’ve dragged everything out and it’s a bit of a bomb on the floor, but I’m being pretty ruthless nevertheless. Still donating as much as possible, recycling some stuff. Think I need to hire a larger skip as my garbage bin outside is already full and don’t want to risk the stuff to go just staying in the house and then getting reabsorbed….

WOW! That’s amazing!!!!

Stumbled upon some school binders filled with papers I no longer need now that I’m done with school. 50 more pages shredded. Also tossed an old photo frame we no longer need and an extra box (emptied it but kept the stuff)! Worked about 30 minutes total cleaning up around the house (sweeping, wiping counters and kitchen areas, and decorating with the box of stuff I found) in 10 minute increments today as my schedule allowed.
Total items decluttered: 190

I found 10 more random reminders/coupons that are either not needed or expired and shredded them. Now to figure out what to do with this shot glass collection I’ve kept– we don’t even drink shots but my husband just adores getting them from places we’ve gone. I think they look silly displayed in the living room (though I did so for years) and I’m the only one that cleaned them (total dust/clutter magnets). Any ideas anyone???
Total items decluttered: 200

Crystal, You’re making amazing progress! I love how the Lego face is winking encouragement to you. It’s as if he’s saying you’re 79 steps closer to freedom from clutter. Thank you for the invitation to join together in this journey.
