1. Office Decor That Makes Me Happy
In my office right now and making me so happy… Bargain flowers that I picked up for $1.25 and a canvas from our new line of products.
2. Homeschool on the Trampoline
It was SUCH a beautiful day one day this week that we did our morning homeschool on the trampoline and the kids thought I was the Best. Mom. Ever. It’s often the simplest things that can make such a difference.
{Also, see that Carry On, Mr. Bowditch book? We are still just loving it! I scoped about it on Friday here.}
3. A Box of Goodies From Grandma
My mom sent the kids a box of goodies last week, including these pencils and Pencil Drawing book. They had so much fun drawing during our Read Aloud time during our morning homeschooling.
I love seeing them exercise their creativity in different ways — whether through building with LEGOs, writing stories, singing drawing, crafts, cooking in the kitchen, coloring, hand-lettering, or ice-skating. I love how each child is so unique and different and yet they are each creative in their own way.
4. Friends Who Make Me Laugh
I love it that my friends are so supportive of me. Brent Hodge is at the top of that list. And this text from him is clear proof of that. 😉
(Tip: Learn to laugh at yourself and then surround yourself with people who will join in with you. It makes life a whole lot more fun!)
5. Cheering Our Figure Skater On
So proud of this girl! Even though she didn’t place as high as she would have wanted to in three of her four events at the Knoxville Figure Skating Competition this weekend, she went out there and gave it everything she had, congratulated those who placed higher than her, and kept a smile on her face — even when feeling discouraged. (You can watch a clip of her skating program here.)
This makes it worth all the sacrifices and time and $$ we’ve invested. Because the character Kaitlynn is learning through all her practices and, now, through competing is priceless… And will impact her for the rest of her life.
What are YOU loving this week? Tell us in the comments!

We took a moment to watch Kaitlynn’s clip – wow! She did a great job! And just love to hear how she is shining the light of Jesus no matter how she finishes!

Hmmm….trying to decide if I’m loving the fact that spring break is now over and it’s back to work and school, especially when it’s sunny and 70 degrees! But I am thankful to be back in a routine and have a little mama quiet time this morning.
Crystal Paine says
Yay for Mama Quiet Time!

I love, love, love this week’s five things! Here’s my list:
1) The Chronicles of Narnia. We’re on book 3 of the series and my entire family cannot get enough.
2) Our sewing machine & scrap fabric. This weekend I use those items to make a small quilt & coordinating pillow. The time to be slow was such a gift.
3) Book recommendations from friends – I just finished “Rest Assured” by Vicki Courtney (recommended by you!) and it was incredibly refreshing to my weary soul. I have a few other books ready to go & can’t wait to dig in!
4) A shop manager who is very competent – I’ve taken unexpected time off in March due to sickness and came back to only a small stack on my desk because he’d done the rest!
5) That my husband fights for date nights – when we’re tired or busy, I’m willing to let them slide but he absolutely will not. Such a gift!
Crystal Paine says
I’m SO glad you loved Rest Assured! Yay!

Your daughter is doing amazing in figure skating!
5 things I am loving this week….
1. I was able to get out and run a bit this weekend and it didn’t seem to bother my foot.
2. Yesterday’s snow in Indiana did not stick around.
3. My eBook has a name and is all in one document!
4. The fact that I can pull my jeans up and down without undoing them…not that I am lazy…but because that means I have lost a bit of weight.
5. A nap 3 days in a row! Okay so this is partially due to the cold my children were kind enough to share but still 3 naps in a week is awesome.
Crystal Paine says
I was SO excited that you were able to get out and run!!!

I would be lying if I said I liked this past week.Chris lost his job on March 28 while we have a an adult daughter at a residential treatment center for depression .Plus we have a son with Crohns. He had no warning and didn’t get any compensation for being laid off.We have already ran out of emergency fund and savings are almost depleted due to medical bills galore.
B. says
I’m so sorry to hear that, Tammy! Praying for you and your family!!
Crystal Paine says
Ugh! I am so, so sorry, Tammy! I just prayed for encouragement and hope for you today. My heart hurts for you.
