If you missed the Day 17 assignment, you can read it here.
We had another great day today — and my alarm clock actually worked this morning, unlike yesterday! 🙂
I chose to clean out the cupboard right next to the fridge as it is the cup that has become a sort of dumping ground for all sorts of odds and ends in the past two months.
I took everything out and wiped it out.
Guess what I found while cleaning out the cupboard?!? 🙂
Much better!
While I was cleaning out the cupboard, Jesse was teaching the kids how to play Scrabble, with the new game board that we just got from Groupon deal. I sense that there are going to be some rousing Scrabble matches in the near future at our house based upon how the game went down tonight! 🙂
How did you do on Day 17? I’d love to have you share your progress and success with us so we can be inspired. Either post a link to your blog post below or leave a comment with your update.

LOVE you finding the sweet reward as you were cleaning. Sometimes I wonder if God is just smiling as we stumble upon a blessing like that!!

How wonderful teaching your children to play Scrabble. 🙂 I can’t remember when I learned how to play but we will still go over to my parents for rousing Scrabble matches!!
I was also cleaning out some of kitchen cabinets this week and after wiping them out I decided to take a cloth and dap a few drops of peppermint oil and rub it on the inside and outer edge. Why? well we live in more of a rural area where mice are more common ( the peppermint oil will help keep the mice away from my clean kitchen pot & pans… if they make it inside! )

Two of my kids really love Scrabble Slam, that we got free with coupons last year. It uses a deck of cards. I have not tried playing original Scrabble with them yet.

I would have loved to find the Kisses in my cupboard but no such luck today for me. But I did get my two pantry cupboards organized so now when I open them I don’t have to worry about things falling out. LOL
How fun your kids learning to play scrabble. If you can believe this I have never played myself before. My kids love to play games too. They love to play cards with their great grandma and their grandpa and grandma when we go to visit.

A homemade version of Scrabble Scoop called Wild with Words is available as a free printable. For my 3 year old I wrote in the letters for the simple 3 letter words (and there is a clipart picture on each card).

As an adult, my favorite scrabble game involves only the pieces (no gameboard). It is sometimes called Speed Scrabble or Take Two. Each person starts with 7 tiles and creates their own mini set of connecting words in front of their seat. Whoever creates their set of interconnecting words first says “take two” and everyone takes two more pieces whether they are ready or not. The game continues till all the tiles are used up and the winner is the first one who finishes creating their interconnected words. It is a quick way to play a game with just two people, though lots more fun if you have more people and two sets of tiles.
