I’m so excited about how many of you are joining us for the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home Challenge! If you missed Friday’s assignment, you can find it here.
So, in case you didn’t notice, I sort of fell off the earth this weekend… I had every intention of blogging about my Friday projects on Friday, but then we were gone all afternoon and evening with friends and didn’t arrive home until after midnight! So then, I was determined to blog about it on Saturday, but we spent Saturday playing catch-up, looking at rental houses in TN (virtually, of course! We found one we love, had friends who live there go and look at it for us, and now we’re now waiting to see if they accept our application!), and spending the evening with our extended family.
When I got home Saturday evening, I meant to finish the post, and then I promptly fell asleep. Such is life sometimes! 🙂
At any rate, we did get the couches cleaned and we did have much, much more than 15 minutes of fun & refreshment — more like hours of it, since we got to spend a lot of time with dear friends!
Oh, how I love clean couches!
I cleaned out the utility closet/pantry in our basement and came up with a box full of items to get rid of — yay!
How you do on Assignment #5? I’d love to have you share your progress and success with us so we can be inspired. Either post a link to your blog post below or leave a comment with your update.

My 7 items: swim cap, a wig, pair of glasses, set of gloves, 2 pairs of cutsie socks and a lamp.

I saw your post that you are moving, but must have missed that you are moving to TN. That’s where I live! How fun! 🙂

The Nashville area. 🙂

I just read back through several posts looking for the details! I was so excited I called my husband at work to tell him–ha ha! He is a Kansas boy and I’m a TN girl. We live 50 minutes outside of Nashville! I’m not sure what area you’re going to live in, but I have 3 close friends that are attorneys there. Will be praying for you as you make the transition!

Our couches really needed to be cleaned. I’m so glad to have that job done. It’s something I need to add to do more often.

I very much took a Sabbath day rest, “soaked it up” on Saturday so I love that you took a break! Sometimes you just need to have friends that refresh your heart.
Crystal Paine says
So glad you had a break, too!

I really enjoyed Friday’s challenge. We bought a new sectional sofa about a month ago. It was a real eye-opening experience for all of us to see how dirty it got in just a month. I had my children get rid of 7 items from their clothing drawers each so we got rid of 49 things. (Some of them just picked out socks with holes or underwear that was too small if they didn’t want to part with favorite clothing pieces.)

A great big thank you!!! I was lazy, unmotivated, and tired of feeling like I’m always cleaning but never feeling accomplished. I followed last week’s assignments faithfully and have felt the momentum building up. I cleaned out my car today, thoroughly, with my two year old helping. It feels like I have a brand new car.
I am incredibly excited that I building a routine I can implement every day – where I could be proud of my home enough to keep it neat and tidy. And where it feels like my cleaning/work doesn’t fall apart right away. Thank you for..well..waking me up!

I’m SO proud of you!!! Thank you for sharing and way to go!

I just LOVE your challenges and although I didn’t start until Saturday, I am all caught up and excited for today’s challenge! I encouraged a couple friends to join me as well as readers and it makes it so fun to have others doing it along with me. Thank you! I love this approach to spring cleaning. I feel ahead of the spring-cleaning-game! 🙂
