I’ve set aside the month of March to really focus on organization in my home and life. And I’d love for you to join me!
Day 13 Assignment
::Get dressed in something that makes you feel great {there’s something about dressing in clothes that make you feel great that just gives you more energy and zest for life!}
::Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea, refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today.
::Complete your morning routine {if you don’t have a morning routine, take some time to create one today! Read my How to Develop a Routine That Works–And Stick With It series for step-by-step help.}
::Set the timer for 15 minutes and do a quick-clean of your bathroom. Need specific directions? Read this article on How to Clean Your Bathroom in 15 Minutes.
::Clean the top of your kitchen cupboards (if there is space between them and the ceiling) and the top of your refrigerator. If you have clutter on the top of your refrigerator, go through it and see if you can get rid of it or find a new home for it. Wipe down the outside of your kitchen cupboard doors.
::Find 7 items to get rid of today. Throw them out, stick them in a donate or garage sale box, give them to a friend who can use them, or list them on Craigslist or eBay.

I tackled today’s project this morning (also added in the kitchen baseboards and light fixtures since I’m trying to play a bit of catch up on those tasks) and thought that if I were much further along in this pregnancy everyone would just blame it on nesting, lol! Thank you for the motivation to get to some often neglected areas!

Eek, It took me 1.5 hours to do this one! I finally found out a good method for the “greasy dust” someone mentioned, I put a dish rag in some warm water and wrung it out, and used blue dawn dish soap liberally, then rinsed it in the bowl of water and went for a second round, it took quite a bit of elbow grease, but it looks fantastic. I’ve not done it in a long time 🙁 I heard one person put wax paper up there after they cleaned to make their job easier the next time around. Just toss the paper, lightly rinse again and put more up… I didn’t do it but it sounded good!

I had glanced over this challenge this morning, but I knew I had a busy morning (and still had to catch up on my vacuuming). I’m so glad I came back and read it again. I totally missed the “wipe down the kitchen cabinets” line. I’m going to quick get that done while the rice is cooking. Phew!

I don’t do this anywhere near often enough…suggestions for how to clean up the “greasy” dust that is now on top of my cupboards?

Crystal, I’m so impressed that during move prep you are still intentionally cleaning, using, purging… my initial reaction to the March challenge was, why bother? You’ll be packing it all up soon? But of course, pairing down makes that job more manageable and it leaves you time to spend with important people you’ll be saying goodbye to soon.
We’re prepping for a kitchen remodel and I thought I was fairly close to “bare bones” but no! I’ve found lots of things that need to find a new home! Thanks for the motivation and the clean house, I’m slowing crossing off something each day.
Hope you’re keeping sane in the midst of transition!

So glad you’re joining us — and way to go on your progress!
Not only is it going to help simplify things for me to have pared down the clutter, but we’re renting out our house when we move, so I’m also motivated to have everything in great shape for potential renters! 🙂
And things have been so peaceful here in the midst of all that is going on. I know it’s truly God pouring out His grace and strength as a result of the many prayers on our behalf. We are humbly grateful!

Awesome list! I am going to try a new organic cleaner to try on the cabinets in my kitchen! Thanks!
