Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Kira:
Beginning in January of 2012, I found our budget was becoming tighter and tighter. I went from a part-time job to no job outside of the home — which meant our family was totally dependent my husband’s income. At that time, his income was not consistent and we started pinching every penny.
I found that our Christmas savings account could no longer have money deposited each week like it had been. Actually, by April I noticed I had not yet contributed to it at all. Thankfully, I had begun using Swagbucks.
Between surveys and searching, I saw the points racking up. I continued to redeem at every 450 points that would rack up for a Amazon Gift Card. In November, I noticed I had $150 in gift cards.
This might not seem like a lot, but with all the incredible deals that Amazon was offering, I was able to have a fantastic Christmas for my three young boys. The living room was loaded! I was so thankful, and realized the blessing that Swagbucks had been for my family.
I know Christmas isn’t about gifts at all, but for little ones, they certainly look forward to seeing those gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. My husband and I love to see that sparkling in their eyes when they first look downstairs.
I will continue to use Swagbucks as long as it is around. I’m thankful for Christmas 2012 and Swagbucks!!
Kira: can you email me so I can send you your $50 gift card for submitting your story? Thanks so much!

That’s great! I’m mystified though. I’ve had SB for probably 5-6 years and I find it fairly time-consuming to earn SB for the reward amount. I still do it but they don’t rack up very fast at all. I made a purchase on priceline (booking a hotel for a long vacation) that earned me $50 in Amazon GC, which was wonderful, but otherwise I earn maybe $30/yr.

I use swag bucks, but most ofthe people in my family are boys. So I get the sears gift cards, and use my rewards points, and go to Black Friday sales. We got everyone except the Moms present and never paid anything out of pocket. We do this pretty much every year, saves us so much money.

I’m using Swagbucks to help pay for our wedding in July 2014. I’m hoping to purchase our plates, napkins, cups, and decorations for free!

Love it!!!

Congratulations Deidre! I hope you will be very happy together. I found I could really increase my swagbuck daily total by running swagbuck mobile tv and EnteraiNow TV on my tablet. I turn them on in the morning and check them to make sure they are still running every once in a while. I will earn 450.00 this year.

Awesome! Swagbucks has been a great way for me to make giving easier. Getting the amazon gift cards and keeping them to pair with fantastic deals and free shipping has been great!

LOVE this story Kira. Just wondering what kinds of gifts/deals were you able to get for your three boys? I am saving up my swagbucks and saving star for amazon giftcards also and will be able to get my son a lego advent calendar this year. Something that he got in the past as a gift from a family friend and loved! Thanks for sharing your story. 🙂

Such a sweet story! I agree that Christmas isn’t necessarily about gift giving, but as a parent it really is so joyful to see their little eyes light up. Thanks for sharing!

I submitted my swagbucks story a few months ago. I was contacted a few days later and was asked to write a few more lines about my favorite ways of earning swagbucks. I did that but no response again. If you did not like my story you should at least have informed once in all these months.
Crystal says
I am SO very sorry if you didn’t get a reply from us. I’m not sure what happened there, but I’m checking into it and will have someone from my team email you within the next day to let you know.
Thank you so much for your grace when make mistakes. It’s much appreciated!

Hi Crystal,
No problem at all. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I have a Swagbucks account but don’t want to download the search bar so I haven’t really done anything with it. On the other hand, I use MyPoints all the time. I’m wondering if there’s anyone that uses both and has any input on the pros and cons of each?
Marla says
You don’t have to use the search bar to earn Swagbucks at all. You do get a bonus buck if you have it, but it’s not necessary at all. I earn way more from Swagbucks than I do from MyPoints.
Denean says
I used MyPoints for several years but felt it took a long time to earn points. Since I’ve started using Swag Bucks, I rarely use My Points. You can still earn points for searching on swagbucks.com without using the toolbar. I use my kindle for the swag mobile and earn 50 swagbucks a day through that. I always have enough for 5- $5 amazon cards each month plus leftover. You can also go under Discover-Activities and click on the videos or articles to earn more.

I use both swagbucks and mypoints. I have for a couple of years now. I earn way more on swagbucks than on mypoints.

Awesome! Swagbucks is one of the easiest ways to save up some cash for the holidays:)
I saved mine up last year for Christmas too, but I dipped into my “swag bucks funds” a few times this year already. However…. I think I’ll still be able to get 50 bucks or so worth of gifts!
Jessica says
Good job! I save my coins throughout the year and once each year, deposit into one of those coin counting machines. I choose the amazon.com option so I don’t have to pay a fee. Between that and swagbucks, it paid for the Lego set, baby stacking toy, the toy for my son, and some special holiday foods / spices that will be delivered to my house at the end of the month. I used subscribe & save to get an extra 15% off the food items.

Just take your change to your local bank. They will count it and give you the cash. And they don’t keep a percentage like those coin-counting machines do! Call ahead just to be sure, but we’ve done that many times, and our bank give us 100% of what we’ve collected.
1956okie says
OOPS!! Didn’t read your whole sentence about the Amazon option! (blushing). Was afraid you were paying a machine to count for you!

Did you know that many banks will not do this anymore?
Mary H says
Unfortunately my bank will not do this. They do, however, take the coins that I have rolled myself.
Adrian says
I bank at two different banks and neither one has a coin machine anymore. They will take your coin and send it off with their armored truck to be counted somewhere else and deposit the money in your account a few days later. No thanks. Just about every big bank is doing away with this service. This is why those coin kiosks are popping up everywhere. 🙁
Mary H says
Wow, no way would I let them do that either. Mine is deposited into my account right then. Too many chances for discrepancies when it isn’t handled right there in front of you.
Kellie says
Thats what im doing is using all my swagbucks codes and another site I do for amazon gift cards since July I have $165 in amazon gift cards to help put a dent into christmas shopping!
Kim says
What is the other site you use for Amazon gift cards?
Skilled S. says
Hi Kim,
I also do Ebates & Saving Star for Amazon gift cards:)
