My friend, Erin Odom from The Humbled Homemaker, just released a brand-new comprehensive ebook today with just about everything you’d ever need to know about cloth diapering.
If you are considering cloth diapering, I highly recommend her ebook, Confessions of a Cloth Diaper Convert. Erin has extensive knowledge and experience — and she shoots it straight.
In this ebook, Erin addresses fears and concerns you may have surrounding cloth diapering. She also gives you step-by-step information on:
- how to choose which cloth diaper is right for your situation
- how to build your cloth diaper stash on a budget
- how to make sure you get the right cloth diaper fit for your baby and toddler
- how to wash your diapers properly
- how to keep your cloth diapers stink-free
- how to trouble-shoot cloth diaper issues
- And so much more!
While I’ve cloth diapered exclusively in the past and have done a lot of in-depth research on cloth-diapering as a result, I still learned a lot from this ebook and feel it is well worth the price. Read more reviews and details on Erin’s just-released ebook here.
Psst! Erin is having a Facebook Party tonight from 8-10 p.m. EST and she’s giving away over $600 in cloth-diapering supplies!

Would someone please help me understand all the confusion and press in cloth diapering? That is what was used for centuries. Pin the diaper, cover with plastic/rubber pants or not, and go. Has it become complicated since I was away? I do understand that today they snap or velcro…..what am I missing? Thank you for helping an ancient understand.

There are many different kinds of diapers now — most that don’t require pins! But yes, it’s more complicated since there are many more options. 🙂

More specifically, different brands/styles are made from different materials– microfiber, fleece, bamboo, hemp, wool, etc. Its much more complicated than the cotton flats and plastic pants of long ago…although those are still available for those that prefer that route. Various materials can require different kinds of care (washing, drying, detergent, etc.). Also, front load and other energy efficient washing machines commonly require a different laundry routine than someone using a traditional top-loading machine with center agitator. As someone that went the route of modern cloth diapers from 2008-2012 for my little one, I can certainly say that for someone that is expecting, or particularly for someone that has recently had a baby, having all the information in one place would be wonderful instead of having to go from site to site to site, digging around for the information they need to become educated on the matter.

Can I come to the facebook party if I don’t have a personal facebook page? (I have one for my blog) but I am currently schooling myself on cloth diapers because well, I am not ready to share yet but come November…
