Enter your email address and you’ll get a coupon by email for a free 8×8 26-page softcover Photo Book from Smilebooks.

I have not had a chance to create a photo book with them myself yet, so I’m not sure how much shipping will be. Let us know how much it is for you and I’ll update the post.

Thanks, Capitally Frugal!

    From the website, it looks like it’s $7.99 for shipping.

    • Crystal says:

      Argh! That’s pretty high!

        @Crystal,

        Yeah, I kind of thought so too!

        @Crystal, Yes that is high. You can get pay the same price for hardcovers at Shutterfly or Artscow when you have free credits.

        • @Rae,
          I would reccomend http://www.artscow.com. They are a company based in Hong Kong, so the shipping is pretty ridiculous. However, DO sign up to recieve their emails. They send three super cheap deals per week, most of them with free shipping. When you open an account with them, you are credited with many free items. You do have to pay shipping for those, so you have to determine if the item is actually worth the price of shipping. (You can find a precise shipping cost list link at the bottom of any of their pages.) Once again, buying products from them without free shipping is very expensie, but using the free shipping deals, it’s super cheap. There’s lots of good Christmas ideas there. Everything is incredibly customizable… you can ever use scrapbooking kits to “scrapbook” instead of just uploading pics.

  • An idea that *just* hit me a couple weeks ago for these photo deals is to print pictures {scenic, maybe themed} and add some Bible verses or other quotes and have them printed. Save them and give them as gifts to sick people in the hospital.

    I just did one with all wood-themed images for a man at our church who is going through chemo. He told me it was one of the nicest gifts he has ever received.

    I also have a collection of nature images that I put Bible verses on and print them out when individual print deals come up – I have given them away at nursing homes before and right now am collecting them to take to Nigeria to give out.

    For Mac’s it only works if you have Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. Mine is 10.4 that really sucks!

    I would never recommend Smilebooks to anyone. I used them last year to make a “free book” for my daughter for Christmas. The quality was terrible and the customer service was worse. Just don’t anyone to come out disappointed like me!

    Before long we might start seeing free photobooks! I got 2 last year for absolutely NOTHING closer to Christmas time!! No shipping or anything! 🙂
