I love these posts! I know you are already super busy, but if you ever get a chance to list all of the books you have read that you listed on your weekly goals, I would be so appreciative. I don’t need a review just a “read” or a “pass”.
You are the best 🙂

The simple act of creating a weekly list of to-do’s has made a huge difference for me. Projects I had been putting off, I’m finally tackling. I created a master list of goals for the year and then use that to create weekly to-do’s.
I get some satisfaction from crossing things off my list. Originally I thought if I finished my list early I would add more tasks, but I rarely get my list done early, and if I do, then I just consider that my chill out time. If I ever found myself consistently finishing my list early, then I would add more items to the following weeks’ lists.
Basically, if it’s on the list, it gets done; if it’s not on the list it doesn’t get done. And I don’t feel guilty about it.
For example, Crystal inspired me to train for a 5K. I discovered the couch to 5K program from MSM readers, and now run about 3 miles a day / 3 days a week. One week I finished running my 3 days a week by Sunday. My husband suggested I should fit another run in that Sunday since it was an unseasonably warm and sunny day. I decided if to run 4 days that week, I would feel obligated to continue running 4 days the following weeks. I would have rather consistently kept up the 3 times a week schedule for a few weeks before adding more runs to my week.
In the past I would have felt obligated to cram in the extra run. But in the past I would have started off with great enthusiasm and tried to cram in too many activities that I would have quit after a month due to burn out. Now I follow my list for the week and don’t feel compelled to fit in extra activities unless I find myself consistently having extra-time week after week. It has worked well so far.

Hopefully I’ll do better with my goals this time, last time I only got a portion of them accomplished.

I had never heard of Kisses From Katie until I saw it on your reading list. I checked it out from the library last week and loved it. Wrote a review of it on my blog: http://lightathome.blogspot.com/2011/11/book-review-kisses-from-katie.html
Excellent book!

I’m working on setting monthly goals for myself. Last month was my first and I did pretty good. I think my biggest goal was exercising 4 days a week and I accomplished that one! My goals for December are set and I’m already working on them!
Thanks for giving us a place to encourage each other Crystal!

It’s going…..but not fantastic. I’ve been so worn out and tired recently. (family is in town for 6 weeks plus my husband has finals for his school!!!!!) I chose your blog as my only one to read for right now because you tend to make me think straight amidst the chaos in my house right now. However, things on my list do get done so I have hope!

I am so looking forward to hearing your take on Getting Things Done. I haven’t read the book yet either, but I did read the summaries of it on The Simple Dollar. I really enjoyed it!

This helps me so much. I always look forward to making my new list and reviewing my old one.

I just used this format with the different sections (personal, home making, etc.) for my goal setting this week and am very excited about the possiblity of achieving the goals I set. I’m new to goal setting (on paper any way)- and to commenting for that matter : )

I want to know how the artisan bread will work out. I got the book from the library and I needed to return it before I could get around to it. It gets crazy here with 2 young-ins lol Good luck this week!

I’m always inspired as I read your goals accomplished and goals planned. I have a 10 month old and still feel like I am trying to get it together. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas!

I make the Artisan Bread in 5 all the time during the winter, when I don’t mind the super hot oven. And last weekend, I made a loaf for a “prop” in our church drama for each of the 3 showings. The play was “The Gospel According to Scrooge” and Mrs. Cratchett tore it in half while ranting about Ebenezer during one scene. The cast ate it up after the scene was over, and I even had a few people ask for the recipe. 🙂

I continue to be in awe of all the things on your list each week, and how many of them you accomplish! I’m thinking you’re not the one who needs to read “Getting Things Done” 🙂
Amie says
I enjoy making Artisan Bread in 5 even though I don’t do it all the time. Usually my little ones like a softer bread although my husband loves the artisan stuff. Thanks for helping keep us all motivated, Crystal!

I have been adding weight loss and healthy living goals onto my menu plan every week. I was originally inspired to do this by reading your goals every week. It has helped me so much to have them written down not just on paper but also on my blog. It holds me accountable 🙂

I’d really like to try that Artisan bread idea. I’ve never been able to make bread from scratch if I don’t use a bread machine… Can’t seem to do that yeast thing right! I’m going to keep trying though…
