I’ve been working on not procrastinating and getting things done early — and I’ve been amazed at how this has increased my productivity, enabled me to do a better job on chipping away at my goals, and has given me more margin time. Thank you for doing this. I have never been this motivated to set my goals, break them down and work them out to completion.
I appreciate you!

Thanks for being so inspiring! I look forward to reading your blog daily!

I had a busy week at work with several committee meetings after school (I’m a teacher) as well as some changes at home. But the few goals I had were met….fix my son’s favorite meal (spaghetti and meat balls) on Wednesday for his birthday….celebrate his birthday on Saturday with family….and learn how to finish the top part of a hat I knitted for my husband. Didn’t know how to create the circle part at the top and then seam together….but I learned and it was much easier than I thought.
Now I’m learning to knit with Starbella yarn to make a cascading scarf. Have you ever used that type of yarn? Google it if you’ve never seen it….so pretty! I’d love to see the pattern or a picture of the scarves you are making for your girls. I find knitting so relaxing, even though I’m not as good at it as I want to be. But I can do dish cloths and scarves and I’ve made 1 baby blanket and 1 hat!

I love how you finished everything on your list! I guess not procrastinating and getting things done early really works.
I accomplished a major goal last week. We finally saved up enough money for me to quit to my day job, and I gave my notice there!! 🙂

Oh yay!

Crystal,
I cannot thank you enough for being so inspiring.. This goal post is terrific. I have not been getting through my to do list lately and so this would be very helpful. Thanks again for all that you do. This site is so informative. I also love your blog books. I am now trying really hard with mine. Additionally you have inspired me to try to work from home. I feel so much more fulfilled.
All the best,
Christia

Great job last week.
I have been having a horrible time procrastinating the last few weeks. I need to get out of my funk and start moving.

Wow! I am impressed! I am such a baby when I am sick and to think of all that you accomplished. I am wondering how you stumble onto the many books I see that you are constantly reading? I am like you in that I am always reading at least 3 books at a time! Sometimes more. Do you have a favorite reading list that you can share with us? Also, can you share, or have you already shared about being a more frugal clothing shopper?
Thanks, you and your blog are such a blessing to me! =)

It seems like everyone is getting the flu this year. (Although, I’ve missed it so far…) Glad you are feeling better!
Keeping my goals super simple again this week. Simple definitely works for me.. 🙂
Liz @ Wonder Woman I'm Not says
Great job on accomplishing all your goals last week! Thanks for the link up.
Pam says
I already linked my goals above, but one of my ongoing goals is to simplify, declutter, and organize my house this year. I am doing a 52 Week Reorganized Home Challenge and would love it if any of you are interested in joining me! http://reorganizedsimplicity.blogspot.com/2013/01/reorganized-home-challenge-week-3.html

Crystal, I would love to see a video (made when the kids are unaware) of you reading to your children during meals. I think it would be interesting and an opportunity to learn how to incorporate this activity into my household. Seeing how you handle the routine happenings of meal time with children would be beneficial for many parents. At my table, there is quite often bickering, messes, requests for seconds and complaints about what is served (compliments, too!). How do you keep your children focused as well as yourself?
Crystal says
Hmm, I guess since we started from a young age, they are used to it and usually we have minimal interruptions. In addition, they are usually all so engaged with the story that it’s not an issue.
Meredith M. says
I’ve read to my kids during lunch time, when I’m not eating, so do you not eat at the same time as the kids?
Crystal says
I usually am done within 3-5 minutes leaving plenty of time for reading (I typically eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day versus three larger ones).
Shelly says
Wow, you were able to get all your goals done while you had the flu. I am really impressed.
Our week went fairly well and over half my goals were accomplished. I am hoping to stay better on track this week. I really would like to get some extra writing done this week but I will have to see how it goes. I did get a few things done which were not on my goal list, which just came up as the week progressed.
I hope all of you are fully recovered from the flu and you have a great week.
Meredith M. says
I love that you have your goals post up so early! My #1 goal this week is to finish getting the house and the details ready for my daughter’s 5th birthday party which will be at our house this Friday!
Have a great week:)
Johanna @ My Home Tableau says
That’s awesome!
I did well last week, but I kept the goals low. This week my husband is insanely busy so we are keeping it pretty lowkey. But…
Here are mine: finish two books I’m currently reading (The Blue Castle and Kitchen Counter Cooking School), Read 5 chapters from chapter book to kids, Send 5 cards out, Go to park at least once with kids, post 4x on my blog, write a guest post…
Brenda Weatherly says
Not sure how much I’ll get done this week with several of us sick with the flu…
Jaimie R. says
I’m reading The Duck Commander Family as well and love it!
Crystal says
I got it for Jesse for Christmas, but I wanted to read it, too. 🙂
Meredith says
Yeah, when I had the flu (it ended about four days ago), the only thing I did was watch TV, sleep, and I made it to the grocery store two times.
I almost crossed everything off too except we visited family this weekend so reading to my daughter (and mind for that matter) didn’t get met because we weren’t at home.
Victoria says
Congratulations on successfully killing all your goals from last week! I am impressed considering you were sick. Glad to here you felt better by the weekend in time for your getaway with the hubby. My theme for goals this month is being a better steward with the food I buy. I did okay this week, but I did not kill it. My husband’s homemade pizza night blew eating just what we had on hand out of the water, but it was so good, I really didn’t care. Back on track this week hoping to use up some more odds and ends that have been buried in the freezer for a while.
Jamie Rohrbaugh says
Wow. I’m with Tammy – in awe that you got all of them done last week. Totally impressive. 🙂
Melissa says
Did I miss it? What is the topic of your next book?!
I love the idea of playing a game as a family. We should add that for this weekend.
Tammy Skipper (@Tammy_Skipper) says
I can’t believe you crossed all the items off your goal list while so many of you had the flu! Avoiding procrastination definitely worked for you this week 🙂 I met my #3in30 goals for the week and even had a last minute trip out of town to see family this weekend. This coming week, I’m really looking forward to finalizing paperwork from our move in December. I’m ready for it to be done.
Crystal says
It may have also helped that I picked pretty easy goals and that we stayed home all week (except for the weekend trip). It’s amazing how much more I get done when we stay home more. 🙂
Kren says
I agree the more we stay home the more we get done. The days we go out I feel like we just haven’t accomplished anything except running from here to there and I am just wore out afterward.
