After completely bombing my week the week before, I was excited to have a really focused and productive week this past week — maybe getting more sleep had something to do with that?! 🙂 I think this may be the first time ever (and probably the only time!) where I get to check off pretty much every single goal on my list — yay!
Last week’s goals:
Family/Marriage/Mothering Goals
1. Read 3 chapters of The Stolen Necklace aloud to Kathrynne. Read 3 chapters of Still More Stories From Grandma’s Attic aloud to Kaitlynn. Read 10 picture books to Silas. Read at least 3 chapters of A Way Through the Sea aloud to the kids.
2. Write a love note to Jesse.Personal Goals
3. Finish reading Whose Voice the Waters Heard,
Greater, Fully Alive, The Promise of a Mother’s Prayers, and Now, Discover Your Strengths.
4. Finish listening to Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard.
5. Exercise at least five times. Start Couch to 10 K.
6. Get at least 7 hours of sleep every night(Well, in all honesty, I averaged 7 hours — some nights it was a little less, some nights more!)Homemaking Goals
7. Finish 25 more rows of the scarf I’m working on knitting.
8. Make at least two new recipes.
9. Host a baby shower.(Over 60 people came and I’m so thankful for all the women from church who pitched in and helped with set-up, decorating, and food. It certainly was a team effort!)Business Goals
10. Write three posts for other sites.

5. Do 5 days’ worth of the Couch to 10 K program.
6. Run in a 5K race on Saturday — finally! 🙂
7. Get at least 7 hours of sleep every night (I figured out some of my tiredness is a result of just plain not getting enough sleep — so I’m aiming to do what I can to resolve that issue this week!)

Good for you! I crossed all but one thing off last week, too! It is such a great feeling!

Have fun at your 5K this weekend, you will do great! And recognize that it is a slippery slope once you have done that first race. 🙂 Next a 10k, then a half marathon…I ran my first 5k and within a year and a half I had two full marathons under my belt! Go get ’em!

Wow!! A 5K!! Think back 5 years ago, did you think then that you could do a 5K ever?! lol After reading your blog for a few years now, I just started working out this last spring. Although I haven’t lost but a few lbs, I love it. It makes me feel great! Thanks for your constant inspiration. 🙂

I was just telling my husband last night that two years ago I would have never dreamed I would be signed up for a 5K on Saturday. And now I’m aiming for a 10K next year… and then maybe a half marathon before I’m 35!
Congrats on your success at working out!

Good luck with your first 5K, they really are fun! My goal had been to run a 10k this fall for the first time, but I am having trouble with my knee and I can’t even find a good race that is near me and not on a Sunday morning. I hope you do great!

Love to see #6 your first 5K! I still remember mine as an adult. I am still waiting on my leg muscle to heal properly, hardest part about it was I did not pull it running, I pulled it during the week I spent over 40 hours getting one of our homes ready to sell. I was painting and the room was just a bit too high for me so instead of taking the few minutes to grab the ladder I kept stepping up on my tippy toes and eventually took one to many tippy toe steps and tore a ligament! It was a hard lesson to learn! I have not been able to run for over 3 weeks now.

Thanks so much for your kind encouragement!

Even though I had a really crummy week getting things done, I still accomplished more than I usually would just because my list was sitting there staring me in the face. Thanks for helping me to be more intentional with my time. I love having a place to be accountable.

This past week my husband was on vacation so I did not get as many of my goals done. But I was happy have my husband home with us.
You did a great job on your goals this week. I have been not been getting enough sleep this past few days and it is catching up with me. I should try to get to bed a little earlier this week.
Gina says
That’s awesome!! (Speaking of sleep, I need to get to bed…)
Crystal @ Serving Joyfully says
Woo-Hoo!!! Love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from actually checking off everything (or almost everything). Go you!
I fully intended to participate this week…but it just snuck up on me! lol. I really want to get better about this though (because I think goals help us be intentional, which is a good thing), and you’re a great inspiration.

Last week (well ending today!) I participated in the Food Stamp Challenge, where I had to eat on $30 for the week! It was quite the adventure.
My goal for this week is to cut myself a little break. It’s difficult staying on a very strict budget!
