Welcome to my weekly Slow Day post, inspired by Monica from The Homespun Heart. My Word for 2018 is Slow and, in the spirit of that word, I’m taking one day each week (Wednesday) off — I’ll be unplugged and offline and plan to move at a slower pace, take time to do things that refresh me, and just really focus on being present and savoring the moment.
Each Saturday, I’ll be sharing a photographic peek into my Slow Day — and I’ll let the pictures almost 100% speak for themselves, instead of giving many explanations. Enjoy a little peek into our lives!

So funny! Our week included making our Suprise Ride candles and then having 3 dinners by candle light. We are also reading Roald Dalh books for home school from the Costco set, which looks like the same set Jesse was reading to Silas. Hope you and your family have a wonderful week this week!

So fun!!

Are you using Stitch Fix quite a bit now, Crystal? Others that I know absolutely love it.
Also, do you have to-do lists for your children every day? That is brilliant that they know exactly what is expected of them. ☺

Love your posts and I’m very inspired to have my own slow day because of it. But I had to comment when I saw the bottle of distilled water… Did you know distilled water isn’t for drinking? The distillation process removes all of the minerals from the water. Then if you drink it, your body is forced to pull those minerals out of your bones to compensate. You are probably just re-using an old bottle, but I thought I’d comment anyway, in case one of your readers didn’t know.

Thanks so much for mentioning that! I’m just re-using a bottle that I originally used for my sinus rinse, but I appreciate you mentioning that because I didn’t even think to mention that!

Funny cause I was literally just going to write the same thing about not drinking distilled water, just in case, but figured you already knew because you’re very health concious. I really enjoy seeing your photos every week that tell the story of your Slow Day. Thank you for letting us all into your everyday life! Blessings.
