Today is Christmas Day and I was given a copy of your book “Money Making Mom” and you ask what is my vision for financial freedom so I thought I’d share that here.
Financial freedom for me means to have our responsibilities taken care of as well as enough cash flow to develop a therapy program for foster children by using a farm setting to reach them for Jesus. This vision has been halted many times simply due to poor management skills and not choosing, once and for all to live debt free. Our debt is generally created out of the desire to give gifts. Since we do not have enough cash flow to give gifts, Christmas, showers, birthdays and spontaneous occasions always get put on a credit card; along with emergencies like new tires or some other auto repair. Many years these cards were paid off with our IRS return every year. However, we have not kept this practice in the latter years as before.
God has graciously given us the 25 acres we live on and has sustained us with His strength. All He has done has not been so we will be “happy” but is for a greater purpose and it is time that purpose is realized. No longer can lack of discipline be the reason for not achieving the purpose for this land. I have homeschooled my 4 children and my youngest is now 16. We have a family business, Shiloh Creek Farms Pony Parties and we have a website but this business is not thriving due to lack of management and marketing skills. It is imperative that we learn where to go from here and begin to make changes that will enable us help others. I am hoping your book is a God send and am looking forward to being challenged. 🙂
