Yes, Different Harris Teeter’s do different our store was $50 purchase and it was .57 a pound on the bird too. I live near dc so it is expected. Obviously I like your deals better. Cost of living is higher here.

I’ve heard DC is $$$. Ouch. ?

Country Green Beans
3 cans green beans
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup chopped ham or 6 slices cooked and chopped bacon (I often skip this!)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer until sauce is at desired consistency or keep on low until ready to serve.
I modified this recipe from Linda Gaido’s Country Green Beans recipe on allrecipes.com. 😉
Every time I’ve made these for guests (most often without the ham/bacon), they go crazy over them. We don’t end up with leftovers. 😉 I normally triple when having guests. We have three small children, and this amount is normally gone after one meal. Maybe one side dish of leftovers.

Do you drain the 3 cans of green beans or do you cook them in that water? Sounds yummy!
JJ says
Great question! I drain them first. ?
Brigette says
This does sound yummy!! And MUCH more “homemade” than plain canned green beans. 🙂 Thank you so much! We will definitely try!!
JJ says
We have tried them with fresh, frozen, and canned green beans and have liked them best using canned green beans. It tastes like something you might eat at Cracker Barrel. And we are dairy-free, so the dairy-free butter works great, too! 😉

How were you able to get the turkey at HT for just .37 a pound our store said only with a $50 purchase?
Great Deals !
I don’t know how you do it week after week!
Brigette Shevy says
Ours had to be a $40 purchase – but that is before coupons. 🙂 I also did the Stayfree deal and Cottonelle deal – which brought my total to just around $40…but then with coupons, obviously, it was much less. (I didn’t include the stayfree/cottonelle in the pic/receipt because this is supposed to be a grocery post, and those purchases don’t exactly qualify. :)) I didn’t realize different stores had different amounts you had to spend to get cheap turkey…sorry that yours is $50. 🙁
