1. Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls
Silas helped me whip up a batch of our favorite Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls this week. Yum!
2. Our New Kid’s Gratitude Journals
We’re SO excited to be launching a Kid’s Gratitude journal — after many requests from many moms! I got the first samples of them this week and I LOVE them!
This journal is a fun way for kids to be reminded to focus on the good and to count their blessings every day. Look for more details and a special sale coming soon!
3. A Fun Money-Making Mom Webinar
I loved getting to host an online webinar with Nick Stephenson for my Money-Making Mom readers. We talked about writing and uploading an ebook to Amazon, how to creatively get your first 10,000 readers, and how to effectively market your products using an email list.
I love that part of my day gets to be invested in inspiring entrepreneurs in ways that they can build their businesses and make an impact on the world. I also love that because I’ve said “no” to almost everything this year, it’s allowed me to say “yes” to just a handful of opportunities that I’m incredibly excited about.
(If you need some encouragement in this regard, I did a scope this morning on Why I Stopped Hustling and Why I Wish I Had Sooner where I share some really honest thoughts on this.)
If you’re interested, you can watch the replay of the webinar here.
4. My Jawbone UP
I totally splurged and bought a Jawbone UP for myself for my Year of Rest and it has been incredibly enlightening. I’ve realized that I’m not getting near the steps and movement and activity I thought I was and that I’m also getting a LOT less sleep than I thought I was.
It’s helped me make some very good adjustments in my day and life so that I’m making my health more of a priority. I think the accountability is going to make such a difference! I was also really excited to have one night this week where I significantly BEAT my sleep goals!
5. A Cartoon That Made Me Laugh
If you think “decaf coffee” is an oxymoron, than you’ll probably find this quote funny, too! 🙂
What are YOU loving this week?
Carrie says
I loved the kids’ gratitude journals so much that I grabbed four – one for each of our kids, and our youngest can’t even write yet. 🙂 They just arrived today, and they’re so pretty! ….maybe a little too pretty, lol. I have two boys, and I’m starting to think they might not like them. I am half considering letting them attack them with black and blue permanent markers…but I thought first I’d check and see if there might be plans in the works for a more…manly…version? 🙂 Thanks either way! We plan to pull them out when our attitudes start heading south….hehe.
Crystal Paine says
We’ve had a lot of requests for a more boyish version, but we don’t have any definite plans for one at this point. We’ll see.

Inspired by your series I started one similar on my own blog! I’m shouting out things that bring me joy each week. Thanks for reminding us to look for the good in all that we have.

I just watched your periscope about why you stopped hustling. Thanks so much for being open and honest; it really spoke to my heart!
Carrine says
I’m really excited about your gratitude journal for kids…it sounds like a great thing to do with my kiddos. love reading your favorites from the previous week…you inspired me to do the same. I stopped doing a weekly wrap up on my blog…I’m not sure why. Now that I am writing down my 5 favorites from the previous week I find myself finding more joy in the little things that pop up every day. Thank you

Love, Love, Love, Love me some coffee but I can only drink a small amount of caffeine so YEP I drink decaf……….dont knock it because some of us have to drink decaf for medical reasons. Just saying 🙂

😉
Michele says
I love the smell and taste of coffee however my body can’t handle the caffeine. So I drink decaf all the time.
Christine says
Crystal,
I soooo love the coffee quote! It reminds me of my best friend.? when she was pregnant she had to completely give up caffeine (including chocolate). She gave hop coffee for the rest of her pregnancy instead of have “fake coffee” (decaf).
Beth says
I was going to say “I’ve been kidnapped…. or I’m pregnant!” Actually for me the worst time was when I was nursing my son. He couldn’t handle me drinking much more caffeine than a cup of black tea. This was a problem because my husband likes to make coffee that stands on it’s own. I loved the cartoon – so going to show my hubby!

1. I’m loving that my carpal tunnel surgery is over with and I’m starting the healing process.
2. My husband was able to take vacation this week to help me out. To not have the use of your dominant hand is HARD! He’s been a great help with the cooking and cleaning… blow drying and styling my hair, not so much!
3. I got to see my granddaughters today. My funny Valentines…
4. My husband and I watched a movie together and now I’m introducing him to the audio book version of it. His first time doing audio and he’s liking it.
5. Time off from work for recovery means slowing down and taking time to read which always makes me happy.
Donna says
I get your email everyday and just love that you’re getting real about slowing down! It’s refreshing to see your transparency and very much appreciated. You are influencing many to to stop the insanity.

Wow I love that quote! Hilarious, and so true!
5 Things I’m loving this week…
1. My baby just turned 1 on Tuesday! We have his party Friday night. I can’t believe he’s already 1.
2. My husband cooking dinner almost every night this week! It’s been a huge help, and he actually really enjoys it, which makes it that much better.
3. I rearranged some of my wall decor, and finally got around to hanging some new stuff that I’ve had for a while, and I’m LOVING the way it’s turned out. I finally had that ah-ha moment with my home. It seems to flow so much more smoothly.
4. My husband and I had our dreaded budget conversation, and it actually went pretty well! We have a plan in place and we both feel good about our plan.
5. I got some really exciting news in regards to my new blog, and I can’t wait to keep plugging away at it and keep following God’s direction! 🙂
Have a great week! 🙂

LOVE your cinnamon roll recipe!
5 Things I am loving this week.
1. A great date day with my hubby.
2. My foot injury feeling just a tad bit better this week–gives me hope.
3. Surprise chocolate found by my favorite chair this morning. I love small gifts better than big.
4. Trader Joe’s flowers! They always have daisies and those are my favorite.
5. My husband’s grill cheesed sandwiches. He makes me one most Sunday’s and they are so good. Just finished this week’s. 2 types of cheeses and lots of butter are his trade secrets.
Lynn L says
I do agree it’s a strange order “decaf coffee” but sometimes I just NEED a cup of coffee in the late afternoon and can’t risk the caffeine. I think a warm beverage during cooler weather (I’m in South Florida for goodness sakes LOL) and the routine of an afternoon break is why I want it! But the caffeine will keep me up all night so Decaf it is! 🙂

I have been tuning in for years, and wondered how long it would take you to come to the end of your stamina and joy. Good for you coming to the place of wisdom regarding what makes life grand!
