This summer I’ve stayed active by moving at the park! My kids are on swim team plus play at the park by pool, so instead of sitting in a chair reading for 2 hours a day I walk, jog and play & swim with my kids. :). Plus a few strength training dvd’s at home. A fun summer!!!

We have started taking a family walk each morning before breakfast. As soon as we get up (and our tiny human alarm clocks wake us up by 6am every day), we put on shoes and coats and head out the door. By 7am I already have almost half my 10,000 steps for the day.

After a year of intense schedule with my daughter’s cheer training/competitions I decide to take time for myself we don’t have any extra activities and are more relaxed and I’m finally!!!! exercising five to six days a week, even if that implies not making my bed :(. It was tough at the beginning but is getting easier ( not the exercise, only the action of leaving the house with out everything being perfect!!! :).

More walking and landscaping around the house. Why pay to lift weights, run across varied ground and move something heavy from side to side? No need for weights, obstacle courses or kettle ball here. Mulch, landscape cloth, shoveling dirt and moving all of it from one place to another will do the trick. Oh, and I saved money too. 🙂

My husband and I strive for 10,000 steps each day. We are doing pretty good too. It is very hot in Florida (Titusville) but have been successful most days. Hubby had a couple health issues but we are back on track.

I’ve started doing the treadmill at the gym with level 8-10 resistance. It burns 300-400 calories in 30-40 min, which is perfect for me since running hurts my knees. Also, I’ve started doing leg days and squats again, and my legs are feeling much stronger in my daily life activities.

I’ve downloaded a 7 Minute workout app. It may not sound like much, but going from totally inactive to doing this – wow, was I sore the first few times.
