If you are struggling and feeling discouraged and overwhelmed right now, I think you might be encouraged by this video I recorded live this morning on Periscope. I shared more of what’s been going on in my life right now and the lessons I’m learning from it.
This video is only available to view until tomorrow morning. You can watch it here. Just click the “Play” button to watch the broadcast. Or download the Periscope app on your device and search for @MoneySavingMom to find my profile and my most recent video.
{Ignore the trolls and few crazy, icky comments on this video. I didn’t catch all of them to block today, so a some of them got through!}
By the way, in case you missed my other post about it, I usually do a short 10-15 minute long Morning Motivation video each weekday morning at around 7 a.m. CT. I’d love for you to join me, if it works for your schedule. It’s fun to get to interact with you all live!

Today’s periscope was so heartfelt Crystal. I don’t know now which one I look forward to more your posts or your periscopes. Thank you for both.
Crystal Paine says
Oh, you are so sweet!
Susan says
I tried to watch it but no luck. Downloaded the app but it asked for my phone number which I wasn’t so keen on giving out. Guess I am going to miss out on this one unfortunately.
B. Winblad says
I agree with Susan. I do not do Twitter so I wanted to go the app route. But, they ask for your phone number and I don’t like that idea. I don’t know what purposes it might be used for, and I loathe sales/spam calls. I really wanted to hear more of your story and how you are doing, but I guess I won’t be able to when you use Periscope to share.
Crystal Paine says
I wish there was an easier way to do live video, but unfortunately, this app is the simplest option available right now. Did you click the Play button here: https://www.periscope.tv/w/aK2lTzEwMjIzMjE3fDFlYUpiZG1xdmdaS1hDmtQrXDdnpt4faMGa_I1ph5ZW6oPivAgvJveKFboN0A== It should work to be able to watch without having to download or sign up for anything.
Susan says
It just turns into a pause video symbol but nothing plays for me. I am going to try my windows computer rather than my Mac
Crystal Paine says

Lea Stormhammer says
It only works if you have particular browsers and flash. I spent more time that I would have liked trying to remedy that but no such luck. I don’t have anything I can download the ap onto or I’d do that instead. I’m bummed – I wanted to watch this.
I guess better luck next time, eh?

I’m so sorry! I’m trying to figure out a way to upload them to my site so that people can watch the videos more easily… still working on this! Periscope is so new, so I’ve got a lot to learn!
{If you email me, I think I can send you the file via email, though. Or at least I can try! crystal @ moneysavingmom.com}
Dia says
I will send you an email, please send me the video? I have no twitter and not able to download the app since I have nothing to download an app to.
Tamara says
I do not have a Twitter account. Is there an expense to being on Periscope? Will I be bombarded with unwanted ads and emails?
Crystal Paine says
No, it’s just a free app. You won’t receive anything other than notifications (if you choose) when I’m posting a live video.
Lisa @ This Pilgrim Life says
Thank you for sharing your story Crystal. Hugs and prayers for you and your family!

Crystal,
I watched your Periscope on replay this morning and am obviously behind on my blog reading since I didn’t know you were going through what you are. Three things I want to say–
1. Thank you for being so honest and open with us on a new and delicate subject. I couldn’t have done that without crying. You held it together well.
2. I have no idea how you could keep your thoughts going with some of the awfulness people were posting on there!
3. I will be praying for you.

Thank you so very much for your sweet words of encouragement! Your comment blessed me!

I watched this on Replay on Periscope since I didn’t catch it live. Thank you for sharing your story and helpful coping tips. I lost my first husband to leukemia a few years ago and these were all things that I focused on in my life during those days and many days since. Just doing the next thing has been so helpful to me in so many dark times. It sounds simple, but it is a big part of what gets us through. Praying all continues to go well for you through surgery. God bless you!
Crystal Paine says
{Hugs!} I’m so sorry about your husband!

Just finished watching it on my PC and it worked fine. Great video, Crystal. Good job and thank you for sharing your personal story. Not sure if I “get” Periscope, but it is an interesting idea. 🙂
Lisa says
Says it “ended” and is no longer available.
Crystal Paine says
If you download the app or sign in through Twitter, it should work.

Do you have to get the app to see your periscope video? Can’t get it to work from your link.
Crystal Paine says
If you download the app or sign in through Twitter to see the link, it should work. I think! I’m still new to this and learning!
