Since I got such great deals on bulk produce this week, I decided to keep the rest of my grocery shopping pretty simple. We still have eggs leftover from last week, and I will be using milk and meat from my freezer stash. I went ahead and stocked up on cheese even though we still have some and don’t actually need it right now. It was a good price, I had wiggle room in my budget – and there is no such a thing as too much cheese, right? 😉

I made the egg roll bowl a couple weeks ago and served with rice noodles, the whole family loved it! I love these post, I don’t have the same stores in my area but do have an aldi, very inspiring . How do you do the strawberry oats? Do you cook it with the oats? Or just top it?
Thanks

So glad you liked the egg roll bowl – we do too! I just cook the oatmeal the regular way and top it with the strawberries. I am sure either way would work!

I’d love the recipe for coconut almond crunchies, but it’s coming up as an unavailable Facebook post. Any chance it could be re-linked? Thanks! 🙂
Brigette says
It looks like it is because it is on a private fb group. I am sorry about that – if I find it in a different location online, I will switch the link out.

Thanks for checking! 🙂

Such great produce deals. I love it when I can score a good deal on good for us food.
Recently I was able to get two huge bags of diced onions for just $1 a bag. It was such a good deal. I froze some and dehydrated the rest.
I also found a great deal on grapes just $.49/lb. The strawberries were $1 a one pound package but I can’t complain. I’m hoping in a few weeks I can find them for $.50 a package and then dehydrate some.

It sounds like you have gotten some awesome produce deals too! How fun!

Dill Bread sounds wonderful! Do you think it would work with 1/2 the sugar (& substituting honey for that)? I plan to try the Egg Roll l in a Bowl next week too.
Brigette says
Probably. 🙂 I am guessing you would have to add a little extra flour, though, to compensate for extra liquid.

Wow, those are great produce deals. I was deeply saddened when I saw that the strawberries at my store had jumped from $0.98/lb to$3.98/lb in one week. Needless to say, I did not buy strawberries. Apples inched up in price so I went with pears and bananas this week. I still have some apples and oranges in the fridge so I should have enough fruit for the week. I am continuing my goal of meal planning and mostly eating from our freezer and stockpile. Last week, I came in about $30 under budget and I am on track to do it again.
Brigette says
$30 under budget is so fantastic! Way to go!

Great produce deals! We spent most of our food envelope on cheese this week but it’ll keep.
