SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT MENU. THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR MY HUSBAND HAS GOTTEN A DEER WOULD YOU MIND SHARING YOUR VENISON BBQ MEATBALL RECIPE? I HAVE NEVER COOKED WITH VENISON BEFORE SO JUST LOOKING FOR IDEAS…THANK YOU!!
Gretchen says
I usually just use my favorite BBQ meatball recipe and substitute ground venison for the ground beef.
1 lb ground venison
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg
dash of garlic powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Mix ingredients together. Roll into balls and place in a pan. Pour half a bottle of BBQ sauce on the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr.

I also added about 1/2 bag lentils..
Rachel says
This may be a silly question but I have never cooked lentils before. Do these need presoaked? I would also love to use your recipe but don’t want to mess it up 🙂
Cory says
It was my first lentil recipe too! I parcooked them in water for about 20mins & added them to the soup to keep cooking. If it gets too thick add more broth or water…
Rachel says
Thank you!

I just made a delish venison sausage, spinach & lentil soup that my family devoured! You could also use regular pork sausage. It was chock full of veggies as I cubed 4 carrots, large onion, 4 celery ribs, 4 small potatoes & generous handful of spinach
As well as a large can of Italian diced tomatoes. I also added garlic, cumin & extra Italian seasoning. Along with chicken stock about 3 cups. Made enough to feel 4 & extra 3-4 meals.
Kim says
That sounds so good! My husband and our boys are all avid hunters so venison plays a HUGE part of my meal plans. Im going to put your recipe in my menu rotation. Thanks!

What great deals, I don’t have any of those stores listed. I do have Harris teeter though… And they double. I’m trying to get back into couponing, I use to do it all the time and saved a bunch of money… Now with baby #2 coming we are trying to cut back some… Thanks for always listing your deals!!!
Tina says
I look for your sisters’ grocery deals every week!

The planters peanuts are .49 after coupon and mega sale at Kroger…. I wish coupons doubled in my area!
