So we got back in town last Monday evening and stayed in town the entire rest of the week (which is the first week I’ve been home all week in quite a few weeks). And guess what? Even though we had out-of-town guests and lots of meetings and then most of us got sick with head colds, I got every single thing done on my goals list!!
It felt SO good to have a quiet weekend at home. I slept, read, we watched a few Christmas movies, and we hung out as a family. And it was incredibly relaxing and just what we needed.
I am grateful for the opportunities to travel and be stretched personally this past year, but I’m also thankful that we have a 5-week break from travels (except for Christmas travels). I forgot how much I enjoy quiet days at home!

Crystal, I’m curious what movies you recommend from your dates. My husband and I love to watch a movie together now and then, but it’s hard to find good ones. We’ve seen all the Sherwood movies and enjoy some old black & whites with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, etc. But especially modern movies generally have something objectionable in them.
Crystal Paine says
We usually look on PluggedIn.org for recommendations and ideas. We like a wide variety of movie genres, but we’ve found that, most of the time, their recommendations/reviews are really helpful as we determine whether it’s worth watching or not.

I’m pretty sure a quiet weekend at home is my very favorite thing in all the world. I don’t think it’s even possible to have too many of those!
(Why yes, I am an introvert. How did you know?? 😉 )
Crystal Paine says
😉 Introverts unite… separately and in our own homes.

I love this. I, too, am an introvert and I enjoy being home I have a couple of friends who can’t stand being home and are always trying to find something to do, either go skiing, shopping or to a restaurant. It’s exhausting! 🙂
Katie says
I am an extrovert and fall into the category of always craving the presence of people and activities. 🙂 But I find although alone time is not my initial craving, after an extended period of time of give, give give, do, do, do, it is nice every once in a while. I love the diversity in personalities among each other! It’s so cool to see the differences in how we are individually wired and interact with each other.
