My husband is out of town for half of the week so I’m doing a simple menu based off of stuff in our pantry and refrigerator. We have quite a few random fruits and veggies in our refrigerator that I will be using up. I took this opportunity to buy a few fun snack items and stock up on cheese.

Very nice. I love your meal plans. I was over budget this week by about $12, but it was okay. I had planned on having a very low cost week, but Walgreens had a great deal on children’s cold meds/ fever reducers so I bought 6 bottles, stocked up on a 2 week supply of milk because of sale prices, bought extra food to prepare for the kids being home for fall break, and stocked up on 2 liters of soda at the $0.50 per bottle price. This is a treat for the kids that will last quite a while. I even bought a few packages of diapers. I will eventually get about $10 back from savings apps. Maybe this next week, I will actually cut back on my spending… After I snag a few good drug store deals. 🙂

I really appreciate your grocery budget posts and meal ideas and look forward to seeing them each week. Your meal ideas are healthy and well-rounded. They are encouraging for those of us who live on smaller food budgets. Thanks so much.

I love your post they give me inspiration that I can to do this by keeping my eyes open for deals! Family of 3 on a 30 budget isn’t easy so I like to see menu and deals.

I am jealous of the milk price! Ours is just shy of $4 a gallon. ( and that is white milk!)

Gretchen! I’m so jealous of your cheese deal! The lowest I seem to be able to get it in Maine a.k.a no Aldi land is $1.99.
