Last week’s goals:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Finish reading Teddy’s Button aloud to the kids at lunch time. {I’m determined to actually accomplish this goal this week! We’ve struggled through this book & it’s not been my kids’ favorite, so that’s contributing to how slowly we’re getting through it… and also we’re changing our read aloud time to breakfast because we recently added in extra swimming and ice skating lessons/practices for the girls that were cutting into our previous read aloud time.}
2. Have a movie night with Jesse.
3. Write a love note to Jesse.
4. Start a new sewing or handwork project.
Personal Goals
5. Work on reviewing and memorizing Romans 1 and Romans 2:1-3.
6. Finish reading I Thought It Was Just Me (But It Isn’t), A Proper Pursuit, and a few other titles that I’m still picking out and will share in my book post tomorrow.
7. Run or exercise at least 5 times.
Business Goals
8. Continue to work on chapters 8 and 9 of my book manuscript.
9. Write answers to questions for an upcoming online interview.
10. Finish my first article for an upcoming magazine column.

No matter what you say…I’m still envious of your reading.
I am preparing to go to ThinkTank and I’m sure you know how crazy things are to get prepared to go out of town for 5 days.
And I am just working on being nicer….

This is my first time making weekly goals for myself in way too long, and they mostly include catching up on cleaning and everything that got put off while we painted and then had a full week of staycation activities. Plus planning my daughters birthday party 🙂

Crystal, there’s no law that says you have to finish a book that you’re not enjoying. Maybe put it aside and read something else that your kids will enjoy right now. You can always pick it up again later if there’s still interest.
Crystal Paine says
Yes, that’s true. And I just might do that if we don’t finish it this week. I’m not one to be a quitter. 🙂

I have lots of “boring” goals this week, but my favorites are to finish the quilt I’ve been making for my toddler (!!) and to raise awareness for a special cause my husband and I are working on, a kind of giveaway for a little Christmas help for a single parent.
Those are actually the two most important goals to me this week too, and everything else is tied for second!

You may enjoy Teddy’s Button in the dramatized version from Lamplighter Theater. We love listening to that story and my boys are older than your children.
Crystal Paine says
Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I agree!!! My boys (triplets who are 8) love the CDs. Charlie’s Choice is another favorite that I know your girls would like too. :). The English accents are the best!!!

Some of my goals are continuing to potty training my two year old and working on double digit subtraction with my six year old.
Good luck with your goals!

I’m also working on two-digit subtraction with my 6 year old. Regrouping can be such a hard thing to grasp. Good luck with the potty training. Its such a relief once its finally done.
Sonya says
Luckily my six year is catching on pretty fast. I was afraid it would be confusing, but he is learning it without any problems so far 🙂

It’s so awesome as the kids get older and find activities they love, but it does add up to a lot of extra minutes! 🙂 Enjoy it, it’s a season! Good luck with this week’s goals!
