The Best Blogging Book I’ve Ever Read (just $0.99 today!)

In January of this year, I met Ruth Soukup from Living Well Spending Less at the She Speaks Intensive. Within about two minutes of meeting her, I knew we were going to become fast friends. And have we ever!

Since then, we’ve gotten to spend time together at the BEECH Retreat and also get our families together for a day in Kansas City. We’re counting down the days until we get to hang out again at Re:Write.

Ruth is not only a dear friend who makes me laugh, listens to me, prays for me, and cheerleads me, she’s also brilliant — a term I don’t use lightly. The way she thinks and processes just blows up my brain.

She’s always experimenting, testing, tweaking, and strategizing. And she’s freely shared the resulting lessons and light bulb moments with me.

All I can say is “wow!” Because what she’s figured out really works. Case in point: by implementing the Pinterest strategies Ruth has shared with me, I have increased my site traffic by over 500,000 unique visitors per month!

Yes, I told you she’s brilliant! :)

And that’s why I’m absolutely stoked she’s written an ebook. I’ve read a lot of books and ebooks on blogging and her ebook, How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul, is hands down the BEST blogging book I’ve ever read. It’s comprehensive, but not overwhelming, and packed with amazing information.

Best of all? It’s only $0.99 today. Trust me on this: You don’t want to miss this deal! If you are a blogger or you want to be a blogger, you MUST read this book.

Can’t wait to read this! I am just started a 2nd blog and hope that it can turn into a source of income. Need to sketch out some time to read this soon! Thanks!

      I just ordered this!

I blogged for six years, and stopped a few years ago because I felt like I WAS selling my soul for not much profit, and it just wasn’t worth it anymore.

But maybe there’s another way? (sigh.)

Thank you, Crystal. I read it last night, and you’re right — it’s a fantastic resource! I guess I’m just realizing that maybe blogging isn’t the right avenue for me right now. I don’t want to spend that many hours “working.” It’s such a busy season of life with my kids, and I don’t want to spend it working. I do take time to write every day because I HAVE to write.

Blogging just may not be the best avenue for my writing because I’m truly not willing to put in all that time on the marketing, picture taking, layout, and so on.

But I do think if I had more of a “how-to” blog format, this would be brilliant.

Thanks for sharing the resource. For now, my blog will stay “retired.” :-)

Purchased the book based on Caroline’s (The Modest Mom) trust in Crystal’s opinion. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the book. I’ve read so many blogging books, so I’m hoping to find something new and fresh in this book.

I just bought this, but it isn’t showing up in my kindle for pc. I’ve gone through all the help suggestions on amazons website. Anyone have any pointers?

Just ordered it! My site is still very new, but I would love for it to grow, and if it helps us financially that would be awesome! Thanks for sharing this!

    Oh My Goodness!

I was beginning to feel like I should give up (again). This could not come at a better time!

I love the art of blogging (writing, matching photographs to stories, brainstorming), but I am utterly lost when it comes to increasing traffic and gaining readership . I wasn’t even thinking about making money!

Ruth is such an excellent and engaging writer. It is like she is in my head, having a conversation with me. I love it! I just wished I waited until AFTER work to start reading it! My lunch hour is too short!

    Best dollar I ever spent!

As a long-time reader of MSM, you do wonderful things! Thank you Crystal & Thank you Ruth!

Thanks for the tip Crystal! Reading right now. I feel guilty advertising on my blog, I write about cooking and inspirational things and I guess I always feel like having advertising on that type of blog lessens its impact. Maybe I’m…could it be…WRONG! :) Looking forward to finding out.

I don’t have a Kindle or other e-reader — just my laptop. I’ve never ordered an ebook before. How does that work is you’re using a laptop? (I feel like such a neanderthal — but I really like physical books!) :P — Barbara

I have always enjoyed Ruth’s blog too, and I also found it thru Money Saving Mom. I trust both of their opinions and recommendations quite a bit. can’t wait to read the book. Thanks for an inexpensive resource!

Oh my sweet friend, you are far, far too kind! I am so grateful for our friendship. You have challenged and inspired me more than you will ever know. Your pageviews are up because you are AWESOME! All I did was help you give people a few more opportunities to see it :-)

I remembered this first thing this morning and with one thing after another, I couldn’t get to checking it out until now (9:10 Eastern) and it’s still 99 cents!

Thanks for another great deal Crystal!

    • says

I chose this option as well – I know 99 cents is not that much and eventually I might purchase it, because I scanned it and it’s a great book, but for now, every dollar counts on our budget, so I’m reading it for free on Prime.
