I have “The Charge” on my list this summer too! I love Brendon Burchard…he is really refreshing!

I also have read “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” and found it to be both interesting and informative.

Books! Your reading list of books looks a lot like mine!
Carol@simple_catholic says
The amount of books you read is so impressive. I feel lucky if I finish one book a week. 🙂
Crystal says
Well, just remember that I’m sure you do a hundred amazing things that I don’t. So I’m positive we’re even there. 🙂
Carol@simple_catholic says
You are so sweet, Crystal. 🙂

Crystal, I echo all the thoughts above about the link-up. Thank you. I also really appreciate how you help other bloggers by posting guest posts, etc. It’s great experience for us and we know you don’t have to do that. But because of that, last week I started looking for people that I know want to write and share their stories–mostly really tough life stories, about how God has freed and healed them from abuse, addictions, messy marriage problems, etc. I asked several folks if they would like to do guest posts for me about their stories in those areas. I wanted to “pay it forward” and help them with their dream to write, as well as help encourage other people who are going through those same messy situations. Each of them so far has said yes. I’m really excited about what they will have to say. Just wanted to say “thanks” for your example in that.
Crystal says
That is so cool! I love it! Thank you for sharing and for your kind encouragement!

I’m curious…..especially since I’m a one-book-at-a-time kinda girl…..but with reading so many books at once, do you feel you are able to give each one the time/attention it deserves? I know you tend toward non-fiction (although I’ve noticed you’re reading more unction these days than ever begins!!) 🙂 But for me, I have to pay attention when I’m reading NF books. How are you able to keep all that info separated….and still glean the knowledge from the NF books?
Crystal says
I’m not reading all of these books at once — they are just the ones I’m hoping to read this week (though that’s being ambitious!) 🙂 I usually have no more than 4 books going at once because anymore than that is too much for me to get through and really soak up.
I usually only read one “deep” non-fiction at a time and read a few chapters every morning. The fiction/biography books are ones I save more for “fun reading” on the weekends and at night.
One thing I’ve found is that I read a lot more when I have a few different options to pick from, though, because I’m not always in the mood for one kind of book.

Hi Kimberly! Another “one-book-at-a-time kinda girl” here as well! Glad to know I’m not alone. 🙂 I have always admired people who can read several different books at a time. I just can’t get my brain to process all of that at once. It’s like information overload! 🙂

I was able to get most of my goals accomplished last week. I am hoping to get my sewing project done this week along helping my daughter prepare for her standardized testing and a few other things too. Have a great week.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this continual post. It has motivated me in so many ways! Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙂

Glad to see you’re doing better about getting enough sleep! I think all mama’s need more sleep!
Hmm, can that become a law??…. 🙂

We are starting our summer routine this week! Getting ready to read your post about setting it up. Lets see if I forgot anything 😉
Lydia says
Thanks for allowing us to link up. Just knowing that the web is seeing my goals helps to keep me accountable!
Whitney @ Making the Journey Count says
I agree, Lydia. Posting my goals on my blog has given me the accountability I need. I just finished reading a book and it was the first book I have read from cover to cover in a very long time! I’ve always been a “wanna-be reader”, but actually putting this on my goals list and posting it publicly has given me a new focus and I am encouraged by the progress I have made!
AK says
I think the Karen Andreola CM book has a chapter about keeping four books going at once. 🙂 My issue seems to be the Amazon “you might also like” feature! I put one on hold at the library, and then “discover” (via Amazon) about ten other books that I’m sure I would…indeed…also enjoy!! Ha! Suddenly I have ten holds available at once and then I’m compelled to have “books in progress” pretty much everywhere in the house.
Good luck with your stack!
Crystal says
I so know the feeling!!!

I added a service project to my list this week, as a way to shift focus off of myself and my own situation. It’s easy for me to get all wrapped up in my own head and lose sight of the big picture, which is to build a life that is a service to God and His children.
Crystal says
Love this!
Missy says
I love looking goals.
Nicci Spencer says
My info was still in Mister Linky from when I link up last week to the giveaways and I accidentally hit enter and it put that link on goals. I tried to remove it but couldn’t. I’m so sorry!! Thanks so much for hosting the link up! I am looking for a new book to read, thanks for listing your recommendations, they’re a great reference tool!
Crystal says
No worries. I fixed it for you!
Nicci Spencer says
Thanks so much!!
Andrea @the Distracted Housewife.com says
Hey I have a stack of books similar to what you have going on and I am slowly chipping away at them. Although I am worried I am being overly ambitious this week with my goals, we will see how the week turns out though.
Crystal says
Glad to know I’m not alone! 🙂

I am impressed you are reading “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”. I’ve read that! My husband worked with HeLa cells in his Master’s program and was interesting to read the story of the woman behind the cells.
Crystal says
How interesting about your husband working with HeLa cells!
