I’m restarting my blog to join in on some of your challenges, including the goal-setting! Thank you so much for the inspiration! I’ve been visiting your site A LOT in the past week to get ideas on how to save on our grocery bill and other areas of our finances. My husband and I are excited to implement some of your tips. Thanks again for the work you do with your website! It is a blessing. 🙂
Take care,
Denise

What a week. 11 goals dealing with gardening and 3 dealing with the minimum amount of housework … I love spring. Of course this is after a few months of focusing on projects in the house.
I’m making progress this week and am already about half way done. All that means is I’m finally ready to get a few things in the ground. I could have done this last week, but I’m still a week early from where I should be. I’m testing fate but hoping this will be a good year.

I just downloaded the book 24/6 for my Kindle. It was on sale for $2.99. I finished “Unglued” today and was looking for something to read next.
Ligia says
I just don’t see where you find the time to do all this amazing cooking, baking, reading, and what about sleeping? I am so impressed-a little overwhelmed. I just downloaded the goal sheet maybe if I just write it down….
Crystal says
I’m very intentional with my time — and that means that I choose NOT to do a host of things. So just remember that you probably have dozens of amazing things you’re doing that I’m not, okay?
But setting big goals and breaking them down into bite-sized pieces has been so, so helpful for me!

I’ve been off the goal-making wagon for a couple of weeks and it’s nice to be back on! Here’s hoping for a fruitful week for everyone. 🙂
Molly says
I failed miserably at my fitness goals last week as well. :/ But this is a new week and I’m determined to do better!
Abby says
My husband and I were looking at the calendar last night and wondering how are laid-back April filled up so fast. I’m interested to see how well I stick to my goals when things get really busy.
Jamie Rohrbaugh says
You still got a lot done! I’m totally impressed with all the housecleaning from the challenge too.
I didn’t get too much done on my goal list last week. I’ve been trying to cram in practice for a church musical, as well as everything else on the normal schedule, plus can’t forget the proper care and feeding of the husband. 🙂 Oh well, the musical is this Sunday so all I have to do is make it through this week!
Crystal says
Thanks for your kind encouragement!

It was so great to meet you at the convention! Thanks again for your blog – it is helpful and encouraging.
Crystal says
Good to meet you, too!

Ooooh, can’t wait to see the recipe page. Thanks for keeping us inspired! I would love to hear your thoughts on some of the books you’ve been reading. 🙂 You’ve been reading some of the same books I’ve thought about reading and have wondered how you liked them.
Crystal says
Feel free to ask any time I finish a book and you’d like to hear my thoughts on it. I’m always happy to talk about books. 🙂
liz says
Thanks! In that case, what are your thoughts on Idol Lies; Making Room for Life; and 52 Mondays?
Crystal says
None of them qualified as what I would consider of the best books I’ve read this year so far, but my top pick of those three was probably 52 Mondays because it had some really practical and helpful thoughts on living intentionally. It was one of my favorite free downloads to date.
By the way, if I really love a book, I’ll usually mention that when I post it on my Pinterest board: http://pinterest.com/msmblog/books-read-in-2013/. And if I really, really love a book, I usually mention it in posts and/or do a review of it here. 🙂

Thanks so much!

Do you have a Good Reads account? I’d like to browse through your recommendations/reviews, more than just for this year.
I know you said you like true stories, thought I would suggest Unbroken to you if you haven’t read it already. I just finished it and it was a really good one. Read like a novel, I can’t believe one human being could live such an amazing life. And a powerful testimony of the power of Christ’s atonement. Amazing!
Crystal says
I’ve resisted signing up for GoodReads because I really try to streamline my online time (one of the reasons I don’t use Facebook other than my MSM Facebook Page).
However, I have tracked all the books I’ve read over the last three years on Pinterest:

I swapped my goal of sewing on my machine for going for a bike ride on my new racing bike with its egg beater pedals. I was really scared at first and so I had my husband drive me to a local school parking lot that was empty on Sunday and made him stay and watch as I went around in circles in the parking lot practicing clipping my shoes in and out of the pedals. Stopping and starting and doing curves. I had no idea riding a racing bike was so different from a mountain bike. After we arrived home I signed up for my first 40 mile race, and my boys will be doing a 20 mile race that same day. It is so fun to have my kids join me in my pursuits.

Go you!

Hi, Crystal! My friend Becca went to the convention and surprised me by taking your book that I had loaned her with her and having you sign it! Thank you so much it was such a nice surprise!! 🙂
Crystal says
Yes, I thought that was so sweet of her! She spoke very highly of you — I just wished I could have gotten to meet you, too!
Amber Taylor says
Aww~! Thank you!

Major decluttering going on at my house! I scheduled a Kidney Foundation pickup for Wednesday. I have ten huge black trash bags waiting to be picked up. I also will be packing up a box of cloth diapers to mail to a friend who’s on bedrest with her third baby. I got the garden plot weeded and snap peas, lettuce and spinach planted.
I had a realization, recently, that my “someday” stuff is taking up my “todays” and weighing me down. I had all these totes of craft supplies for “someday” and other ‘might need this someday’ stuff. It’s making me anxious and I spend too much time and energy worrying over it so it needs to go.
Pam@behealthybehappywellness says
As always Crystal, I love your goals. I’ve posted my April ones. Here’s to a productive week!

I tried a new cleaning recipe last week for a toilet bowl cleaner and it worked really well. The tea tree oil in it made the bathroom smell nice. This week I am going to give a new shower cleaner recipe a try since I picked up some blue Dawn liquid dish soap on sale at Walgreens this weekend. I look forward to seeing how you like the cleaning recipes you try.
I want to get a little gardening done this weekend along with my 5 week menu plan too.

Would you share your bowl cleaner recipe? Thx so much!
