I have a confession to make…

The view from my balcony on Captiva Island this morning

Um, about that freezer cooking I was supposed to do on Wednesday and blog about yesterday? Well, I had grand ambitions, but I ran out of time and steam on Wednesday since I was getting ready for an early flight to the BEECH Retreat yesterday morning.

So the freezer cooking just didn’t get done. Such is life sometimes.

Thanks for your patience and understanding when I’m not always able to follow through with everything I plan to do. If anything, I hope it encourages you to know that I so do not have my act all together and I definitely drop the ball on things sometimes — or other times I just choose not to do them in favor of sleep. :)

But I’ll do my best to actually do my freezer cooking plan next week. :)

In the mean time, I’m enjoying a wonderful few days staying on Captiva Island. It’s gorgeous here — cold and windy, but beautiful. My keynote was last night and so now I get to soak up the wisdom from the other speakers (like Michael Hyatt and John G. Miller!) today and tomorrow.

What?!? You mean you’re really still human? ;) Hope you have a great time on your trip!

;) If you could have heard my keynote last night, you would know that I’m very, very human! :)

My husband and I took our 3 years late honeymoon there in 2005 at Christmastime. It was beautiful and so fun to see palm trees decorated in Christmas lights! Living in Ohio, we get terrible weather around Christmas most years. It was cool but beautiful and we spent lots of time on the beach and at the nature preserves. we even went to the library there! :)

When we returned from our trip, we had an email that my DH’s older sister was expecting her first child. We laughed and laughed.

    Yeah.

Guess who got pregnant the next month, unexpectedly.

    Mmmhmmm.

I didn’t laugh at anybody’s pregnancy news after that. My daughter was born on Halloween 2006. Now I have three kids and while only the middle was on purpose, I love them all! So moral of the story, is don’t laugh at people’s pregnancy news. It must might be you next!

Yep, I do this all the time! I just start fresh the next day, and am usually more productive then ever!

The older I get, the more comfortable I become with the fact that the best-laid plans don’t always turn out the way we think. That’s OK. Onward and upward! Have a fantastic time!

Completely understandable! We can all make plans, but we need to give ourselves grace when we know we can’t accomplish everything we ‘plan’ to do. Have an amazing time and say ‘hi’ to my friend Kendra from www.preschoolersandpeace.com while you are there!

So jealous! Even cold and windy Florida looks great, it is single digits and snow covered in WI today. Ughh. At least the sun is shining?!

Thanks for sharing your foibles with us ; You are human after all. I certainly don’t always follow through either!

You are in my neck of the woods! It has been chilly today, if you were here last week it was in the mid 80′s. Enjoy your stay! Captiva is lovely.

With everything that you do, I thinkthat missing one post on freezer cooking is certainly something that we can understand. :) But thanks for caring enough to explain…… and thanks for what you do for your readers.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Sitting on my balcony enjoying a similar view. Never realized how much the ocean town girl in me misses it until I return to it. Loved running along the shore of it this morning.

I hope you enjoy your time. I was in the Bahamas just a few days ago soaking up the sun and breaking up our cold New England winter. It felt soooo good!
I am home now and went grocery shopping today and plan on making few freezer meals myself this week.
