With my busy week last week, I wasn’t able to do as well on my goals as I hoped to, but I’m happy with being able to have at least crossed quite a few things off my list. And I’m trying to remind myself not to bite off more than I can chew — even if it seems really tempting to do so 🙂
Last week’s goals:

How do you remember all these books? When my dad reads books he keeps a composition notebook to take notes in, but I can’t imagine doing that with all the books on your list! How do you get the most out of each book?
Amanda says
Thanks for your inspiration with regard to weekly goals! This is my 3rd week to make a list of goals and blog about it, and I’m really enjoying it!
Jennifer says
Crystal, How did you like the book Life Without Limits?
Crystal says
I was really inspired by it! Have you read it?
Nicole says
I really wish that someday you’d come to my area and speak at a conference so I can attend. But I guess you don’t go to Canada often, huh? Too bad! 🙂
Crystal says
I’d love to visit Canada someday!

Ah Crystal I’ve always prided myself on being rather organized but the last few months instead of focusing down the line on big goals I’ve followed along with you on weekly goals. Just small things. Organize that drawer there. Get those things off to Goodwill. Type this up. Finish all the laundry (for once). What an eye opener! This is so effective at getting things done! I have plans to update my planner with more weekly goal sheets (a goal). Things I usually procrastinate on (because we all do) are finally getting accomplished in a timely manner. Such an effective tool!

I wish I could read as many books as you! I know, I know… it’s all about priorities. One day I’ll prioritize better. 🙂
Heather @ My Mothermode says
I linked up my goals! I’m reading These Happy Golden Years aloud to my oldest two. ..such a nice way to wind down the days! And I finally figured out how to get my son to practice piano without complaint, at least for now.
Katie @ KatieTevis.com says
I definitely feel like I am accomplishing more of what I want to now that I’m setting weekly goals. Thanks for the motivation to do so. 🙂

Looking forward to BEECH. I will pray your speech preparations go smoothly. I am looking forward to meeting you and all of the attendee’s. I have so much to do these next two days to prepare my family for me being gone. I also still have to pack. I am going to throw in a book for the way there and one for the way home which I know is probably over kill since I know my flight is around 2 hours I think, but then again…me and airports don’t have the greatest history so I am thinking more is better than less in this case.
Crystal says
I *always* plan for delays at airports. That way, if they happen, I’m not surprised or frustrated — and I have stuff to do. 🙂
Excited to meet you in a few days. And thank you for your prayers… I’m taking a totally new approach to this talk based upon what I learned at the speech coaching and it’s definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone. But that’s a good thing, right?
Tammy Skipper (@Tammy_Skipper) says
Have a great time at BEECH! I always plan on reading a lot when I’m flying/traveling but I end up sleeping and catching up on rest 😉
Sandy says
I have one goal this week and that is to accept a job offer (power of positive thinking!)
Mary Ann says
My goal for this month is to seriously de-clutter and organize!
Crystal says
I’m hoping your goal comes to pass!

when you do a birthday outing is that in lieu of gifts? we have always had birthday party and gifts for our twins who are turning six but lately I’ve been wondering about an experience instead of gifts. this would be a little hard for me since my love language is gifts.
Crystal says
This year, the outings were somewhat in lieu of gifts (both Jesse and I took Kathrynne on an outing this week). However, on my outing with her, one of the stops was that I took her to her favorite toy store and she got to pick out three things out to buy. Our other two also bought her some fun things at the dollar store.

After almost 18 years of marriage and 7 children, I am only now realizing the importance of making goals! January was my first month of writing out weekly goals- thanks to the inspiration of Money Saving Mom- and each day I wake up, I feel much more motivated and hopeful for the day. Thanks, Crystal!
Crystal says
I LOVE this! Would there be any way you’d be willing to write a little blurb for my upcoming book on how goal-setting is changing your life? This would be perfect for it. Email me, if so: moneysavingmom @ gmail dot com
Brenda Weatherly says
Sure! I just emailed you!
Crystal says
Thank you SO much!

I love your blog and goals! Right now, my goal is to make goals. 🙂 I do have a couple of questions. 1) Without going into detail, how much/what kind of detail do you put into your love notes? I am AWFUL about writing them, and they always sound super-lame and 6th-grader-ish, so I gave up. And your personal reading: do you read 1 book all the way through, or juggle the books, reading a few chapters of each. How does that work for you? I am soooo intrigued, and want to give it a shot, I just don’t know how to start.
Kristi says
I don’t have a post up with my goals but I’m really trying to focus on using my time better. I also need to have a couple of movie nights with the family.
Stacy says
Looking forward to meeting you and hearing your keynote at BEECH retreat!
I’m already packed 🙂 This is the earliest I’ve ever been ready for anything.
I hope you have a great week and a smooth trip to Florida.
Crystal says
Go you! Can’t wait to see you!
Shelly says
This week I did some freezer cooking too. I made 5 loaves of bread, some meatballs and cheeseburger muffins for the freezer.
I am also doing fairly well at keeping up on my reading this year so far too.
I know what you mean by biting off more than you can chew. I have been doing the same thing the last few weeks. This week should be a more balanced week with my goals. 🙂
Kimi Crombie says
I usually post monthly goals, not weekly, but I linked up so you can see what I’m doing this month, and what I succeeded/ failed at last month! 🙂 Thanks for all your encouragement!
