If you missed the Day 15 assignment, you can read it here.
Jesse actually thoroughly wiped down my computer with his special computer cleaning cloth on Wednesday night (I had mentioned something about it needing cleaning and next thing I knew, he was doing it!), so my computer didn’t need to be cleaned on Friday. Yay!
{Well, Jesse might argue that my files could use some re-arranging and organizing, but he’s sort of a nerd when it comes to organizing computer files and uses elaborate systems to keep everything organized. Me? I’m fine so long as I know where everything is or how to find everything.
I’d rather spend my time on the computer writing, marketing, and putting up blog posts rather than meticulously organizing things — especially when I usually can find whatever I need really easily, even if it’s not put into a sophisticated system. Don’t you love it how opposites attract — even in little things like computer files?!}
I flew home from Little Rock yesterday, so I was blessed with two relaxing flights, allowing me the time to read both Anything and Pocketful of Pinecones. Two completely different books, but both were inspiring in their own way.
How did you do on Day 15? I’d love to have you share your progress and success with us so we can be inspired. Either post a link to your blog post below or leave a comment with your update.

I would love to hear about how that nerdy computer organization works. I’m like Crystal, but now that we’re homeschooling and running the family business off the same computer, I could really use some file organizing tips.
Well, he’d have to explain his whole elaborate system, but basically, he has a file for everything and lots of files within files.
Create Categories and subcategories (folders within folders) in a way that makes sense to you. Ask yourself what information you’ll need to find later. If grouping things together by date (or year) doesn’t tell you what you need to need to know, than don’t organize the files that way.
You’ll probably start with just 2 folders. One for your business and One for homeschooling. As you open those, you’ll see the folders with your main categories.
Ha ha Crystal, my husband and I are opposites also. One time while I was at work he totally reorganized the kitchen how he wanted it. ALPHABETICALLY!!! Ahem, took me forever to find things.
Glad to hear you had 2 relaxing flights. Hoping you will share more about your time with the Economides soon- loved their book!
My primary problem is in organization of pantry/kitchen items. I have things arranged (mostly cans and boxes) in a logical manner (for ME-not nearly so logical for my husband). If he gets a spare minute he’s “sorting and organizing” all the stuff. I am having trouble telling him that his system makes NO SENSE to me Whatsoever and everytime he does this (about once/month) It takes about 3 times as long to find anything. I guess I will just have to start shopping for 3 or 4 days’ worth of meals at once instead of 1 or 2. Do any of you ladies have any suggestions as to how I could phrase my request that he allow Me (& only me) to keep the pantry organized?
Thanks
I took out everything except dry beans, pastas, flour, sugar, cereal, pet food, etc. It now is extremely easy to see each item in the pantry to grab it. Where we live it is too hot to store food on shelves in the garage, we put the movable 4 tiered shelf in our walk-in closet at one end. Not a big deal to me to grab fruit, veggies, etc at some point in the day and set them out for the meal time.
I had to recently organize my files on my computer because I couldn’t find things when I needed them. I had already cleaned my computer on Monday so it was clean. But I did need to address my e-mail and purge some old ones I no longer needed.
