It says there is a .20% APY for balances under $50,000. How does that work? I’ve not really ever paid attention to that in checking before. That sounds like a “fee.”
Wait! I think I just misunderstood apy! sorry. tired.
I am going to to this. My husband has an ING account that he uses as a higher yiel savings account. I need a new business account and this will be perfect if it includes business accounts. Otherwise may open it with my christmas fund money and use it as my Christmas account. Either way thank you and blessings.
I decided to try it out and use it for a Christmas account. Can’t beat a free $125!
Drat, I just opened an ing checking account a couple of weeks ago for a $50 bonus. I’m assuming even if I open a second account I wouldn’t be eligible for the bonus since I’m a pre-existing ing checking account holder. Has anyone ever tried this and gotten a second bonus??
What if I already have an old account with zero balance? can I still do this deal?
When does the 45 days start? As soon as you submit for the checking account? When you’re approved? Or when you receive the card?
10 purchases is a lot
Tried to sign up but they wanted us to call a number to verify information, and they aren’t open Sundays. So guess we’ll miss out :-/
I signed up for the previous posting when ING had the promotion for $50. I never did get it to work for me because I didnt know how to do the required purchases. Any help please?

Do they send you a card, do you have to call and ask for them to send you a card, can you make the purchases online, or how else do you do the purchases? I know several people I read from the previous posting would use their account quickly at mcdonalds and then be finished with their purchases. Just wondering how this works! Thanks!
the electric orange card is a debit card they send you. just use it as you would any debit card. the purchases can be small ones, a few dollars here and there. just do at least enough to get the bonus money. we did this last year when they did a big bonus at thansgiving time and haven’t used the card since. it’s just sitting there collecting a little bit of interest.
Is this process fairly secure? (No concerns w/ legitimacy.)
I noticed that you have to include your social security number on the app. Not surprising or unusual, as you must include you SS# when applying for a new account at a brick and mortar financial institution. Just not sure totally comfortable with providing this info on line.
Has anyone ever heard of or experienced any problems?
I realize that time’s up for this opportunity, however, ING will more than likely offer another opportunity in the future.
I have had an ING account and love it. yes you have to provide your info just like a “regular” bank, You also have to have a “regular” bank account. I love that they give interest even on my checking account no matter how little is in it. Also they have an overdraft that works like a line of credit but only up to $25, much better than paying an overdraft fee. I recommend them 100%
Both you and your husband can have different ING Accounts I opened one in my name a few months ago with the 50$ and then my hubby opened one for the $125
