If you missed this morning’s assignment, find it here.
Today was a busy day! Not only was it Cyber Monday — which meant more deals to wade through and post! — but I also had a meeting, phone calls, a walk-through of our rental house that we’re closing on tomorrow, a doctor’s appointment, papers to sign at the bank, and the usual homeschooling, among other things.
But I did get my goals for the week written down and my silverware drawer cleaned out.
Honestly, it wasn’t too messy…
…but there were some crumbs lurking in the corners.
It felt good to get it all wiped out! By the way, once again, we have zero spoons in the drawer… I promise we do use them at our house! 🙂 Some were in the dishwasher and the others were on the table that was already set for dinner.

This was a tough one for me because our silverware drawer was doubling as a junk drawer!

As I was going through the pictures I was thinking, “Huh. I wonder what the reason is for them not having spoons?” I figured there was some health or frugal logistics to not having spoons! Lol!

We always run out of spoons too. I put the salad forks and regular forks together, so we always have lots of forks, but the soup spoons are too big to do that with. At least we think so! 🙂

Wish my drawer would ever look that clean the inside of my drawers were unfinished oh fiber board or whatever they call that wood they shred up and then press together. After various coffee or cocoa spills over the years I just put down a no slip pad and called it good. Not pretty but heck the organizer takes up the whole darn thing anyways.

1 cup measuring cups?! 😉 I bought spoons at dollar tree the other week for the same reason! Not pretty but they work the same.

Ha – the first thing I thought was, “Don’t they use spoons at their house?” I should have read more carefully! 🙂

Love your silverware organizer! This day was a great one for me. For one thing, the house needed that pick-up, and for another thing, I was unlikely to clean out the silverware drawers without someone advising me to and I really, really needed to. 🙂

Okay call me silly but like the play of the red measuring cups against the wood grain with the simple clean feel. It just spoke to me.
Yeah those crumbs are annoying.

Oh and on the spoons. Ours were disappearing until finally there were none. I accused my hubby of spiriting them off to work which he denied ever happened. Finally I went to Ikea where you can buy just spoons. So I bought, just spoons. Tea and soup. I’m happy.

I’ve never been to an Ikea and would love to go. Maybe needing spoons could be my excuse! (There’s also the factor that there is not an Ikea close to me at all.)

My best friend lives far from one also. For some things they have the perfect solutions. And the meatballs are so yummy! 🙂

I really liked that the cleaning for today was an easy assignment. My silverware drawer wasn’t bad this time since I had cleaned it out with the last 4 weeks series.

I feel your pain, Crystal. I can’t keep knives clean at my house. 🙂 Good luck on the closing tomorrow. How exciting for you all!

LOL we never seem to have spoons in our drawer either! And sometimes it is funny because we go in spurts…we will go weeks on end without spoons in the drawer and then the next week we will all eat toast and pancakes and waffles all week and suddenly be out of knives 🙂

I took a picture of our drawer today when I cleaned it out and we didn’t have any spoons either! That is too funny. 🙂

Maybe we all need to ask for some extra spoons for Christmas. 😉
