That toast is adorable. I just saw on Pinterest a layout of fruit kabobs in the shape of a flag with banana’s strawberries and blueberries. So cute for a 4th bbq.

Here’s our menu plan this week.

I’m finding it harder to meal plan & shop in the summer w/ the kids home. This week I’m sticking to mostly familiar & simple recipes to make it easy on myself.

This week is all about spending as little as possible for us. So I made a meal tonight out of my pantry that turned out great! Meatless meatballs made from canned beans making this very frugal!

That festive toast is sooo cute! My kids would love it.

Here is our food allergy menu for this week. In addition, I have a list of foods that are easy to pack/eat when traveling in a car. Most are geared toward food allergies, but they are so basic that anyone can eat them. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great ideas! We are going to my sister’s tomorrow (plus lots of traveling in the next couple of months), so this will be a very keep-in-handy list!

That toast is cute and looks yummy! The 4th snuck up on me–I put so many ideas in my “favorites” folder, but have yet to try any. Slow down, Summer! Here’s what we’re eating this week:http://cozycakescottage.com/2012/06/24/our-menu-week-of-june-24-2012/

Great idea on the toast. It seems very do-able!

Here’s our menu for hot weather (even though some nights we have just been eating cereal or yogurt it’s been so hot!):

I pinned both the chocolate protein truffles and the healthful chocolate fudge recipe. Both look amazing. I often wonder how you find all these amazing recipes!

Oh and the flag toast is too cute!

  • Susan L. June 25, 2012 at 08:08 pm

We are having trouble with meal planning this summer (the heat…the heat…the heat), but we are doing fairly well using up what we have and on the fly. August (when school starts and I head back to work) will see the blocky monthly calendar come out with things written in pen based on what’s already in the freezer/pantry. When I replenish, I extend the calendar out.

  • Jessica June 25, 2012 at 08:11 pm

I’ve made a similar crock pot chicken recipe. I agree with the tin foil wrapped potatoes. I also line the bottom with baby carrots and celery. It’s a one pot meal and they come out great. My husband loves it!

  • Jessica June 25, 2012 at 08:45 pm

We made the green monster smoothies this week, but I made them with chocolate almond milk instead, and didn’t use any yogurt. My kids pretty much drank them in one single gulp! :)
