I did the same thing at Vons a few months ago, but it didn’t work out so well. My husband was planning on building our kids’ bunk beds, so I bought Lowe’s gift cards, and got the catalinas for however many dollars off groceries. HOWEVER, there was fine print on the catalinas that was NOT in the ad for the promotion. It was $$ off a purchase of $75 or more, one catalina per transaction. Vons is the most expensive grocery option in my area, and there just weren’t enough “deals” to make it worth the $$ off. At least not before the catalinas expired. I still had the gift cards that I bought, so it’s not like I LOST money, but it was frustrating. So, FYI, ask questions about terms and conditions before you try a great-sounding catalina deal. At least at Vons. It sounds like “QueenBee” had a much better experience at Albertsons.

I did something like that this week at Martin’s. Buy $50 worth of gift cards and get $10 off your next purchase. The catalina did not say it could not be used on gift cards, so I have been rolling it to buy more gift cards. We will be redoing part of our kitchen in a few weeks, so this has been great.

Previously, we bought some Lowe’s and Home Depot gift cards at Kroger to get 4x gas points. But $10 off is an even better deal. Between the 2 stores I have enough to buy the supplies we need.

This is a great idea! In our area, Stop and Shop had this
same promotion this week. I had already planned to buy a
$50 Bed, Bath and Beyond gift card for a bridal shower gift
next week. I was excited to get $10 of groceries as well. It
    was great timing!

We had a small project we needed to do at Lowes this week. So I spent my $50 at Giant and got a $10 catalina for groceries! Worked to my advantage!

Can these be rolled on the gift cards?

Thank you so very much. I planned on buying a gift at Lowes. Got $40 for groceries. Awesome.
