Weekend Giveaway: Hand Painted Wall Hanging by Carmen Guedez

by Crystal on May 12, 2012

A few weeks ago, a really big box showed up.

Guess what was inside? A gorgeous hand painted wall hanging by Carmen Guedez. And it matched perfectly with our main floor living area decor.

It matched so perfectly, in fact, that you’d think I would have had it commissioned or something. But the funny thing is, I knew nothing about the fact that Carmen Guedez was sending me a wall hanging to review.

You see, Amy sets up the giveaways that run on my blog and she works directly with the companies to decide what will be best for my readers. In most cases, they send a review item for me ahead of time.

Oftentimes, a company will ask me to choose an item to review. But sometimes, a company will just send an item of their choosing. So a surprise box will just show up with a review item in it, which is what happened this time around.

So I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the contents of the surprise box: Carmen Guedez had picked the absolute perfect wall-hanging to send and I promptly fell in love with it.

It’s just perfect, so beautifully done, and matches our family’s style to a tee.

And I’m really, really excited because I get to give away a very similar painting to one of my readers this weekend.

One of you will win the Sunset Garden wall hanging shown above so that your living room can match our living room. Wait, that sounded a little weird. Okay, how about more like so that you can also display a really lovely painting in your home, too? :)

This Sunset Garden painting by Carmen Guedez is a 48-inch by 24-inch Oil and Acrylic on Canvas painting. It’s 100% handmade original (not a print) and has 1 3/8-inch painted edges (no staples on the sides). It comes with Carmen’s signature on the front and back and also has a certificate of authenticity.

And, if you’re anything like me, I promise you’ll love it!

I looked at her gallery, its gorgeous. What a great artist! I hope I win. I love the sweet nectar painting. Makes me wish I had an art category in our budget. : )

Her paintings are beautiful. I looked at her gallery also and like the “Amazing Grace” one.

  • charity crawford May 12, 2012 at 02:44 pm

Those are very beautiful pictures and look well done. Would love to win one…..Thank you for this opportunity.

  • Cara May 12, 2012 at 02:47 pm

  • Stephanie May 12, 2012 at 02:55 pm

  • Jean Bearrick May 12, 2012 at 03:21 pm

Beautiful..but 75% off of $1,299…are you serious? I read this blog because I’m working on living frugally, saving, and paying debt. Even $425 for a painting is not something I’d consider, but thanks anyway?

I’d love to see a post on “how to create your own $1,299 painting for $12.99″ by using 50% off Michael’s and Hobby Lobby coupons, some acrylic paints and a 1/2-off canvas…

    • Crystal May 12, 2012 at 04:07 pm

Yes, most of the artwork is way outside most of our decorating budgets, but I try to provide a variety of different kinds of giveaways and thought this would be fun for someone to win who might never be able to afford a painting like this otherwise. I hope you win!

      {Also: Someone on Facebook mentioned that she has posters available on her site that would be great for framing — and could make for beautiful artwork on a much smaller budget!}

    • sarah May 12, 2012 at 04:56 pm

But isn’t that kind of the point of a giveaway- to have the chance to score something for free that you normally either wouldn’t or couldn’t spend the money on yourself?

    • Chelsea May 12, 2012 at 05:13 pm

Mary, that’s actually a really good idea. You’ve officially inspired me to try and come up with something similar but inexpensive. :) If I figure something out, I’ll definitely write it down in a post.

I know it can be discouraging not to be able to afford featured items like this. Our family can’t either. $425 is almost a week’s pay for us. But I suppose there are a few people who might be in the financial situation to be able to afford one, and they might as well get a good deal. But wouldn’t it be so cool to win one?!

I wish you all the best in your frugal journey and paying down your debt.

I have to respond…I am planning on going to Michael’s tomorrow with my coupon – I’ve seen abstracts I love at Cost Plus World Market and I always think…I could do that! I’m crafty AND cheap…er, I mean frugal! :) If my results are worth posting, maybe I’ll ask to write a guest post.

  • Rachel May 12, 2012 at 03:54 pm

I love how God made us all different. That painting sure looks lovely on your wall, but I would not want it on mine! :) It’s just not my taste!
