Kids ages 14 and under can earn a $5 Half Price Books gift card when they read (or are read to) for 15 minutes each day. Download the Reading Log here.
From the fine print, it appears you can earn a $5 gift card in both June and July, if you meet the qualifications. Does anyone know for sure if that is correct?
Also, don’t forget to sign up for the Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program and the TD Bank Reading Program. Plus, check your local library to see if they have a summer reading program you can sign your children up for, too!

We did this program last year, and it was only one $5 credit – would be great if it is two this year. I’ll ask the next time we go to the store.
Bummer, the HPB program is only good if you have a local HPB store, not online!! ugh!
Last year, it was just a one-time $5 credit and that was very clear. I just called my local store though and she confirmed that it is a two-time $5 credit this year!
I just posted a long list of summer reading programs on my blog. Most, if not all, of the programs are nation-wide. And some are online, so it doesn’t matter if you have a certain store near you or not. Feel free to check it out and share.
