A few months ago when they had the same coupon in their book I tried to do the above scenario and was told I couldn’t. The cashier said I could only use one coupon per item – I had my newborn baby with me and he was fussing so I didn’t argue.
Is that true – or did I get an uniformed cashier?
You were misinformed. My best friend’s husband is a Walgreens manager. And you can use as many coupons as you want.
I have been told about the one coupon per item limit too. I remember grabbing a small ‘filler’ item to use two coupons. I know you can stack a manufacture and store coupon for each item but the total number of coupons needs to match the number of items you have. Walgreens’ coupon policy is so confusing, I rarely go.

I tried to use the printable coupon and the Walgreens coupon and could not use the printable coupon. I had more items than coupons, too. Here is what I bought:
2 Lysol wipes 2/$3.98 (on-sale, BOGO)
1 Avent Pacifiers 2-pack $4.29 (Used $2 Wags coupon & attempted to use $1.50 printable coupon)
3 Starbucks Refreshers $1.49 (3 free coupons from P&G 4/29)
1 newspaper $2.00
That’s seven items and five coupons… what did I do wrong? I always end up spending more than I planned at Walgreens because the coupons never seem to work out correctly.
I have never been allowed to use 2 coupons on one item at Walgreens unless I was buying one more item at the time. You need to have as many items as coupons, even if 2 coupons are for one item.
I also did the same thing today and was told i couldnt but im gonna try to go and purchase at a different walgreens cause ive read the coupon policy and i know i can !!!
I was told the coupons in the wags booklet are nolonger all store supported coupons. the one for the avent products is mft. coupon not a wags coupon and you cant use 2 mft. coupons on one item. you can use one mft. and one store coupon on one item. AND if the coupon in the booklet says “not valid with any other offer” the system is not takeing it any more.
All coupons say that on them, so it seems like you just got a cashier who was misinformed. I’m sorry that you had a bad experience.
Per the Walgreens corporate coupon policy, you should be able to use these two coupons together.
