I’m finally getting this post up tonight–hours later than I’d hoped. I was rather exhausted today after a crazy weekend trip (more on that in a little bit), so I spent most of today just snuggling and reading with my children and trying to get back into the swing of things.

How many chapters do you normally read to your kids each day? We read one chapter a day, but I think they’d sit there and listen to the whole book if my voice would hold out that long. 🙂 We are reading Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder and loving it!
Crystal says
1-2 chapters of our current book. If it’s a book with shorter chapters, I’ll sometimes do as many as 4-5 chapters. We usually read for 30-45 minutes from our chapter book each day–so we just cover as much as we can cover in that timeframe.

I accomplished 3 out of 5 goals last week. Here’s hoping I can go 5 for 5 this week.

I decided to switch to monthly goals then work a little at them everyday. I think I have so much going on right now that when I tried doing the weekly goals, I didn’t get everything done and I kinda felt like I let myself down. So this month I will try monthly goals to see if that creates better results.

I got the audio book of 10 Habits of Happy Mothers from the library, and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks!
Now that its’ March I have a lot more yard work goals which are more fun to accomplish in my book!

I love reading the weekly goals. So many times I just overwhelm myself with the daily goals, when in reality they can be stretched out. I have an iPad and a great chore/house app has been my.homeroutines.com. I love it. Keeps my house clean and organized and my girls have their routines on their iPod’s so they just check them off and it gets sent to my iPad so I can see what is done and not done. We love it. No paper. I do have to get used to my iPad for my goals because there is a reminder app that pops up little alarms to remind me. I love seeing how yours is broken down into sections. I will have to consider that one. Thanks.

Week number 2! Man is it challenging to get your goals out there online!

Have you picked a 5K race yet? There are some fun ones out there. In our area I did a Santa run at Christmas time. It was a blast, each runner got a shirt that was done up like a Santa Suit, a Santa beard and a Santa Hat. All the runners ran in their Santa attire, and they served cookies and candies at the rest stops and candy canes and cocoa at the end. Did it with three friends and we could not stop giggling.
Crystal says
Too fun! I’ve not picked a race yet–hopefully soon!

I love using http://www.active.com/ for helping me find upcoming races in my area. It is like a pinterest for fitness fanatics. You enter your zip code along with how many miles you are willing to travel and the event you want to do and the month you want to do it in and it will show you what is available in your area. It lists 5Ks to 100 mile ultra marathons.
Crystal says
Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I linked my goals up. Your method of splitting it into sections totally makes sense to me, so I’ve started doing the same. It’s a crazy getting ready to leave town week, but I think goals will help. =)

This week feels like a week where there should be only one goal: Make it to Saturday in one piece. However, I did actually make real goals and have worked on them some. Overall, this has helped me in being able to make it to Saturday.
I hope the rest of your week goes better than your flight did.

Good luck on preparing for MomLife boot camp!! I checked out the dishcloth you are working on – looks lovely! I might have to try it sometime.
I linked up my list of goals this week!
Anna @ Feminine Adventures says
I only exercised *once* last week, but was able to get most of the other goals done.
This week:
Spend time each day with each child (even if it’s just five minutes!)
Exercise at least 4 times
Finish giveaway, announce winners and send of prizes
Wrap and deliver baby shower gifts (for four new babies!)
Write and submit 2 guest posts

I love that you are so true in what your goals are and what you accomplish! It makes me feel so much better when I can’t cross off my entire list (or even half) to know that other’s don’t always accomplish everything they set out to accomplish either.
I also love the personal goal of the love note to spouse. It is easy to let that slide but so important to let one another know that you are appreciated!

Gettin going on my March goals! I’m trying to conquer all my paper clutter this month and I’ve already thrown away a few bags of it. Progress 🙂

Reading your goals really helps me be motivated about my own goal setting and gives me ideas too. Thanks!

Crystal says
I so wish I could have gone to Blissdom so I could meet you! Any chance you’ll be at Allume???
Mandy says
Oh, I hope so! It sounds like so much fun! We are trying to decide this week since tickets sell out so fast. 🙂 I can’t wait to meet you!! 😀

I am always amazed at how much you get done! I was able to get everything ready for my first vendor event selling my cards and crafts. It went well and I really think that was due to my goal setting habits! Thank you for posting this each week!

It’s the usual goals of keeping up with my husband, kids and home. But the biggest thing I need to accomplish this week is prepping for spring.
I’m a direct seller and I have a big event next weekend, so I need to get my spring products and decorations out and put away my fall/winter things. Only problem? Half my things are here in the town I live in, but packed and the other half is packed in boxes sitting in the extra room in my husband’s office in the town we are trying to move to. The kids and I are joining him this weekend, so I can go through my products there and get out our spring clothes to bring back with us. I just need a good plan so I don’t bring back a bunch of things that I will have to re-pack. So that’s the big goal, a PLAN and then getting it done. Anything else I get done is gravy.

Should have spent most of my day snuggling and reading to my children. Thanks for the reminder!
Kristen says
Agreed!!

Ooh, can you review the Corrie Ten Boom book for us when you’re done, even a few sentences? Or have your kids tell you a few sentences for us? I’m always on the lookout for good character books that are at the right level and engaging enough for my kids. I just got this one http://www.amazon.com/Corrie-Ten-Boom-Watches-Little/dp/1845501098/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1331003708&sr=1-1 but haven’t read it. It looks like it will keep my littlest’s attention, but I’d like to have some good character books my oldest could read on his own and enjoy.
Crystal says
We’re almost done with it and they are LOVING it. I am, too! I thought it might be a bit over their heads, but once we got into it, they are on the edge of their seats begging for more!

My biggest challenge lately is getting 8 hours of sleep. It’s still at the top of my goal list. I have been doing well with implementing routines though. Here are ten of my goals for this week:
