I just love your site and your book. My husband and I lost our jobs last year and were blessed to find new ones quickly. Our new jobs pay significantly less and have spent a great deal of time reviewing our spending habits. Instead of feeling bad about our situation we wanting to change and make the best out of it. I’m a SAHM to two little girls. I worked for almost 2 years after having our first, but started staying home once our 2nd was born and the cost of daycare would offset my salary. I never thought I was cut out to be a stay-at-home mom and was so lost for the first few months, and having just moved to a new town made it seem that much worse. Now, things have fallen into place, and I’m doing things I never would have thought I could three years ago. I make my own bread, coupon, sew, make my own laundry soap, and about a million other things, all while getting to enjoy my children. I never wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but now I can’t imagine a more important job.
Long time reading from Illinois. We have 4 kids and proud to say I am now a stay at home mom thanks to our frugal ways! : )
