Are you ready to get your finances and your life in order? Do you want to be intentional about how you spend your days and your money so that time and money aren’t just slipping through your fingers like sand?
Would you like some accountability to help you get on track? Join The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget Book Club, hosted by Amy’s Finer Things!
Amy will be blogging through the chapters and challenges in my book over the next 12 months sharing her successes and struggles. And she’d love for you to join her. I’ll be joining in for some Q&A’s and we have some other exciting thematic giveaways planned to encourage you to participate and make positive changes.
Head on over to read Amy’s hilarious post on what she discovered while following my advice in chapter two of the book (my husband and I got a good laugh over it!) and leave a comment to enter to win a free book and to let her know you’re planning to join her for The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget Book Club.
I’m also going to be using the chapter themes in The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget as monthly themes here on MoneySavingMom.com. It won’t be a “book club” per se, but I’ll be sharing expanding upon the topics in the book–sharing additional thoughts that I didn’t have room for in the book and sharing many inspiring guest posts related to each month’s topical theme.
This month we’re tackling goal-setting, if you haven’t figured that out. As I’ve already touched on, goal-setting is such a vitally important part of getting your finances and life in order as it’s impossible to be intentional with your time and money if you don’t have a specific target you’re aiming for in the first place.
Have You Pre-Ordered Your Copy Yet?
We’ll talk more about goal-setting over the next few weeks, but in the mean time, you’ll want to order your own copy of The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget in order to follow along with the monthly themes. The first chapter of the book is on goal-setting and I think if that’s the only chapter of the book you read and follow, it has the potential to be life-transforming!
The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget will be on shelves in bookstores and shipping out from Amazon and Barnes & Noble on next Tuesday (January 10, 2012). If you have an e-reader, you can pre-order a copy for your Kindle or pre-order a copy for your Nook.
So what are you waiting for? Go pre-order your copy of The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget!
And be sure to come back tomorrow for a very special fun freebie I’ve put together for you to help you get a great start to 2012!

Crystal I hope you see this comment. The commenters above, April & Leslie….I’d like to buy the books for them. Is there any way you can send me their email addresses? Or have them contact me? I commented yesterday about wanting to buy additional copies for friends, but I think my money may best be served in people who actually do want to read the book. Thanks!
Mona says
Julie, that is so kind and wonderful of you!!
Julie says
I’m just paying it forward. A few years ago we were pinching pennies til they screamed, and it was a lot of kindness, hand me downs, etc. that got us through!
Crystal says
You are SO kind! If you wanted to just comment to both of those commentors with your email address so they can contact you directly, that would likely be the best way.
Julie says
Yeah, if I’d been paying attention, I would have noticed that first. Duh. LOL.
Gina says
This book club really is a good idea. It’s such a blessing to have others around you to encourage you in your efforts and keep you motivated. Looking forward to reading your book, Crystal. 🙂

Looking forward to decluttering and budgeting. I’ve been reading up on the envelope system, also.

this is an excellent idea, Crystal! The bookclub, but especially expounding on each chapter as a theme on your blog for the month. 🙂
Can’t wait to read and follow along!
Kari says
Love the idea and can’t wait to get started!

I am definitely going to following this one. Need to get finances in order to so we can make some rather important purchases. Our 8 yr old daughter has cerebral palsy. We live in small 2 story house and desperately need a rancher and a w/c van which we can’t get now cause of finances. I am so ready for this.
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Coupons says
I just ordered my book! They said it would ship sometime in the next two weeks?? Hopefully I’ll get it faster than that. I can’t wait!
April says
I wish someone was giving away Kindle versions. I received a Kindle for my Birthday today, but I only get the free books from Amazon. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to buy any books. Hopefully I can convince some of my family to get it for me though!
Lesley says
I am in the SAME boat. I got one for Christmas and I can’t afford the Kindle addition…or any addition to be quite honest.
Andrea says
Check to see if your library has ebooks that you can borrow. Our library has copies that can be borrowed just like regular books, but they expire after a certain amount of time. I don’t know the specifics, as I don’t have an ereader.
Mandy W. says
Our library sent out an email just a couple of months ago that Kindle books were now available. Definitely check it out! Just call your library and ask if you can’t find anything on their website.
Mandy W. says
I forgot to add that I requested my library buy the book, and I’ll bet a bunch of other people did too because they ordered 8 copies! We are in the middle of Dave Ramsey’s Baby Step 2, so I can’t afford to buy it. Someday I’ll hope to get my own copy, but in the mean time, the library is sure a great resource when you are trying to save money!
Crystal says
Yay!
Julie says
April and Lesley, I’d like to buy the book for you. Email me at [email protected] and we can hammer out the details.
Amanda says
The library in my county uses a system called Overdrive to rent ebooks. No late fees, no going to the library, you just need a current library card. They expire after 2 weeks and depending how many copies the library has, there may be a wait list. Hope this helps!
Heather says
I got one for Christmas and had the same problem til my handy brother showed me how to put the books I want on a wish list and now when people ask what I want I refer them to that list.
Bridgette @ Blessings Multiplied says
