Thats the truth.
THAT’S GOOD!!!
It is tradition at our home to watch this movie every Christmas Eve!
We watched this movie last night!
That about says it all. It’s interesting because one would not tend to think we are in a recession the way that people are shopping and spending this year. Materialism is sadly abound. The holidays are just a couple of days, and yet so much emphasis is placed on them. What’s important are the blessings we all have in our lives every day of the year, and it does not have to do with “stuff”. In the end, the perfect Christmas and holidays do not matter. It’s about love, it’s about family and friends, giving to others, and especially a savior who was born and gave His life for the world. There is always much to be thankful for, even during difficult times. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Wow how true this is. Back in 2009 when it all first hit going “back to basics” became the thing to do – we seem to have slid away from it, again. As long as the family has it’s members for support, and the belief to why there is a Christmas in the first place, the money shouldn’t even begin to enter the picture.
I was JUST thinking that. (If we looked at the way people are buying things, you’d think we were out of the recession.)
Love it! SO TRUE!
Amen, Sistah!
Also tour the world and see the way most of the world lives. If you’ve ever driven a car, you’ve done something 85% of the world never has. If you have a pair of shoes in your closest other than the ones on your feet, your richer than 85% of the world. Beans and rice seems like a sacrifice and what only poor people eat in America, but if you offer the truly hungry people beans and rice, they won’t just break down crying….they will likely knock each other over and fight over it. I feel rich simply because I get to eat rice every day!
Wow! Really puts things in perspective.
Really? Wow thanks for sharing
Marlana, Those statistics help put things into perspective. I would be interested to read from their source. Do you mind sharing that? Thanks so much.
Hi, Margaret, I heard it from Mitchel Tolle (sp?) Leadership |Summit seminar. Its available on CD as well, and he gives a lot of stats there. The later example on food came from Kisses From Katie by Katie Davis though I also live abroad and have done so for two years and have seen these things as well. So it has changed my perspective.
Very true! Merry CHRISTmas!!!
That is the truth!
So true!
So true!
Love it! Thanks
