The Land of Oz Family took this end table

…And turned it into this adorable play kitchen. I’m inspired!

I just discovered all these DIY furniture-to-play kitchen transformations! Here is a blog (not mine) that has a link to a bunch of ideas.

We have an old entertainment center just sitting in our garage. I can’t wait to transform it into something for my kids!

That’s adorable!!
So much cuter than the expensive, plastic ones you buy in the store!

A friend of mine did this… so adorable! My creativity is nowhere near this level! http://kellyharperphotography.com/blog/diy-kitchen-set-snohomish-county-wa-martha-stewart-wannabe/

Very cute, but by the time you’d buy knobs, dishes, trims, fabric, etc. you could buy one already made secondhand for a lot less. I’ve picked up a workbench, kitchen, basketball hoop, and art desk for our son from Goodwill for between $2 and $6 each. I use Magic Erasers to clean marks from them and they’re as good as new.

So cute. There’s a small entertainment center on the curb across the street from my house. And I keep trying to convince someone to take it and transform it. I have boys so they prefer Legos to kitchens right now or I’d take it! I even mentioned it on our local Freecycle. :) It’s been out there for a week and really wants to be a kitchen. ;)

How cute! Way to go! I wish I could do something like this :)

Awesome idea! Great way to repurpose the end table and it is WAY cuter, more durable and more functional than a $100 plastic thing. Will be trying it myself soon. Thanks for the inspiration!

It’s so ironic that you posted this!! DH and I have been so excited to start on one of these for our daughter for Christmas! (and that photo is one of the main ones we wanted to “go by”) It’s true it will probably end up costing as much as a secondhand one…but where’s the FUN in that!? :) …now I just gotta learn to make all that cute felt food!

Here’s ours! It gets regular use at our house!

Last year we converted a $18 thrift store children’s hutch into the most beautiful kitchen using tutorials we found online (and my husband’s handy abilities). The kids have never played with any toy more. A year later, they all still play with it daily. And it is beautiful!

I am so excited. My 6 year old wants to be a veterinarian and I have been looking everywhere for a toy vet center that wasn’t cheap plastic and would break. I will be thrift store hunting today!!! Watch for pics.
