When I was dating my husband (20+years ago), his aunt was making these bowls. She passed away shortly after I first met her so I never learned how to make one but I have a small bowl that she made. She even hand-carved a crochet needle out of wood for the larger strips of material and made LARGE baskets with handles. They were beautiful. You can also make kitchen rugs. This is the first time I have ever seen these bowls since she passed! Thanks for bringing back memories and for the post. I am saving this to my favorites!

I have a pair of great fine-wale cords that just gave up the ghost. Perhaps they’ll find a second life this way? ;)
