What is your grocery list for this menu plan?
Food on the Table says
Yum, loved the dash of chocolate chips on top of the oatmeal. Weekly meal-planning is such a good answer to save money and just to save your sanity. Eliminating stress and having a grocery list ready ahead of time is always a great idea.

I have never put chocolate chips in oatmeal. I have never even thought of it . . . no idea why. That sounds so good!! Here’s our plan!

My sister and I have been freezer cooking this week. I am going to share about that next week in my menu plan. We each spent $110 and made 60 meals each. It was a lot of fun! I am really enjoying trying freezer cooking! Makes a hectic life much easier & it feels good knowing that you can feed your family healthy foods regardless of how busy your day gets. (-: I hope that your freezer cooking goes well!

Tell me WHY I’ve never thought to put chocolate chips in my oatmeal…that’s brilliant :). Maybe starting the morning off with a little chocolate would help my cravings later in the day :).
I tried to plan for the next 30 days this time–it’s one of my fall goals!

I haven’t thought about chocolate chips in oatmeal, but I love it in oatmeal cookies, so this seems like a very sensible treat!

That crockpot tortilla soup sounds good! I had planned on BLTs tonight, but maybe I’ll switch up (I forgot to defrost the bacon anyway).

After seeing it on your menu week after week, I have to ask if your kids eat the salad with feta and dried cranberries? If I served that to mine, I’m pretty sure only the cranberries would get eaten!!

My oldest daughter loves salads, my two younger ones don’t have to eat them yet. I’m hoping they’ll grow to love them, though!
Trish @ Finances With Funk says
After last weeks eat only freezer meals, this week we are doing Crock Pot Only Meals. It was supposed to start to get cooler around here and yet it has been almost 90 degrees. Oh well. It will still be nice to have dinner “done” early.

My weekly menu is looking vaguely familiar to last week’s because my best intentions did not come to fruition… I did make a few changes, but for the most part, we’re having a do-over! 🙂
Tonight we had the BEST honey, mustard, & rosemary pork roast. So easy and good! The recipe and the rest of my menu is here: http://www.simplifylivelove.com/2011/10/weekly-menu-freezer-cooking-plan-1017.html
Thanks!

This week we are keeping our menu simple. After being sick for a week I am still trying to recover. The oatmeal looks yummy and with chocolate chips I might be able to convince my kids to eat it (they really don’t care for cooked oatmeal).
Thanks for sharing every week! Here is our menu for this week:

I am laughing at the Frito Chili Pie blog link. We have been eating “Chili, chips and cheese” as we call it, for 10+ years. Either with Corn chips or tortilla chips. Both are great. My 12 yo son will open a can of chili and warm it all up in the microwave for his own dinner on
“fend for yourself” nights at our house.

If you’re a pumpkin lover I have a suggestion for you. Add 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie filling for each serving of oatmeal you make. Top off with blueberries. YUM!

I have some ripe bananas from last week so I am making a chocolate banana bread as well :).

Thanks for sharing your menu each week and even more thanks for your past eat from the pantry challenges…that is what I am doing for the next week or so. Just made a list of everything I have in the pantry and it makes no sence for me to go to the store for food!! My family may not be as excited as I am, but I am sure they will not starve!! We may have a big lesson in thankfulness this week!! 🙂 Thanks for all you do and share!

We had Santa Fe Chicken Tortilla Soup tonight for dinner. It’s a conglomeration of many recipes I’ve collected for chicken tortilla soup, and it turned out really good. It’s tomorrow’s Tasty Tuesday post. We had chicken parmesan Saturday night, and it turned out great. I make it a lot, actually. I have a good freezer recipe for it.
I tell ya, if we didn’t have a slow cooker, our family wouldn’t eat half the time it seems like :).

I really like the Morning Glory Muffins and the first time I made them I did not have any apples to grate so I used grated pears. I think they turned out more moist and better then when I used the apples 😀 I also use a cup of apple sauce instead of the oil and they are super tasty! Thanks for sharing them with us!

mmm… Cinnamon Roll Cake. Got it bookmarked. I need to restock on coconut oil & then I can make it (staying away from cows’ dairy while nursing & have been using coconut oil in place of butter in baked good recipes). Hope it turns out! 😀
