Indianapolis Reader Meet-Up

Update: Sign-up for the meet-up is now closed. I’ll be emailing those of you who signed up with more details at the end of next week.

I’ll be attending The Relevant Conference at the end of October, so while I’m there I thought it would be fun to have a little reader meet-up. I’m still working out the details, but at this point, the plan is for the meet-up to be on Friday, October 28, 2011, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

If you are interested in attending, could you do me a favor and fill out the form below? Once I get a head count of how many are interested in attending, I’ll be emailing those of you who fill out the form with more details on where we’ll be meeting and any other instructions you’ll need to know.

And yes, there may be free Starbucks involved with the meet-up. :)

I would love to come to the meet up.

Crystal October 7, 2011 at 5:11 pm

Make sure to fill out the form and I’ll email you details in the next week or two after I’ve finalized them.

Stacy October 8, 2011 at 5:11 pm

Crystal, I don’t see the form.

Crystal October 8, 2011 at 7:21 pm

Sign-up is now closed because all spaces are filled. However, since you had commented yesterday, email me and I’ll sign you up and send you more info in the next week on where it will be.

Crystal , just wanted to let you know Harrisburg, Pa. is a wonderful city to visit. I lived there for 5 years but unfortunately, have never had the opportunity to return. If time allows be sure and visit the state capitol and museum both would be a wonderful and awarding experience.

Megan October 7, 2011 at 6:21 pm

Crystal, I can’t believe it! You’re visiting all of my old stomping-grounds: first Indiana (grad school) and now Harrisburg (where I grew up). You need to get out to Spokane sometime (current residence). Enjoy your visit :)

Susan (FrugaLouis) October 7, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Wish I could be there…have fun! :)

dru October 7, 2011 at 7:24 pm

Sounds like a blast (and who could argue with potentially free Starbucks?)! On the plus side I’m only about 90mins from Harrisburg but on the downside, I have so much traveling already scheduled for some Halloween activities that I really don’t think I could do it. Maybe if you’re in the area again I’ll try.

Hannah October 7, 2011 at 7:25 pm

Wish I could come but I am nowhere near PA. Let us know if you are ever in Seattle!

Laura Hoffman October 7, 2011 at 7:35 pm

I am soooo disappointed that we will be out of town for a wedding that weekend – we are only 45 minutes away from Harrisburg and would have LOVED to be a part of this meet-up!!! Maybe next time ~ Enjoy the capital! :)

Tiffany October 7, 2011 at 8:00 pm

We just moved from Harrisburg Pa to Miami, FL. So bummed I won’t have a chance to meet you! Would’ve loved the opportunity! Have a wonderful time! It’s a beautiful area!!!

Guest October 7, 2011 at 8:34 pm

We’d love for you to visit Bentonville, Arkansas!!

Crystal October 7, 2011 at 8:40 pm

You should have a Kansas reader meetup sometime! I live just a little over an hour from you and would love to meet you in person! :)

jess October 7, 2011 at 9:02 pm

You need to head south and visit Lexington, ky :) home of the UK wildcats!! I love pa though it is so beautiful up north!

Melanie October 7, 2011 at 10:22 pm

I filled out the form Crystal and I very excited about the possiblity to meet you. I’m just 15 miles from Harrisburg. I hope it all works out!

Marie October 7, 2011 at 11:21 pm

I’d love a kc meetup, but I’m guessing we’d fill a whole gymnasium. :)

Becky October 7, 2011 at 11:39 pm

Free Starbucks!? When are you coming to California? I mean, I’d love to meet you, when are you coming to California?

Sidetracked Sarah October 8, 2011 at 1:25 am

Oh man….we were near there this summer on vacation….but no plans to go back. Sounds fun!

Vanessa October 8, 2011 at 6:16 am

When are you coming to New York City? :)

Jessica October 8, 2011 at 8:55 am

My thoughts exactly, Vanessa! :-D

Karen October 8, 2011 at 7:01 am

If only I was still in college (went to school right outside of Harrisbug). On second thought, no…I’m glad to be out of school! But I hope you enjoy that cute little city.

Sarah October 8, 2011 at 8:25 am

Hee hee- “cute little city”… we moved to Hbg 2 years ago and you’re right… we’d never been out East before moving and I thought I’d be in the heart of civilization and culture… who’d have thought the state capitol of PA is really fairly small relatively speaking.

Laura @ Beltway Bargain Mom October 8, 2011 at 8:10 am

Can the Relevant Conference attendees join in too? :)

Jen (Balancing Beauty and Bedlam) October 8, 2011 at 2:40 pm

Exactly, we’ll join in on the best of both worlds – Relevant and CP. :)

Crystal October 8, 2011 at 3:16 pm

Absolutely! If you didn’t get a chance to sign-up and you’re attending Relevant and want to attend this, too, just email me.

Guess we moved to Maine as part of a church-outreach a year too earlier! :-) Have lived in the Lancaster/York, PA area for 30 yrs, and NOW you decide to do a Starbucks date w/ the ladies. ;-) Just kidding of course, but I’m praying you’ll have a lovely time in our home-area…

So wish I could have joined you guys but I am on the other coast – and to think I made my first ever visit to PA this past August! Have a great time!

Kristy October 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm

I live in Harrisburg, so if you have any cancellations, I would love to join you! Hope the conference goes well!

Amanda October 8, 2011 at 5:39 pm

Fun! I live a little over an hour from there (in State College). Enjoy Relevant and Pennsylvania in the fall!

katie manning October 8, 2011 at 6:18 pm

Crystal, would love to join you. I live in Harrisburg and not far from a Starbucks @Susquehanna Market Place. Keep me updated. Not sure how to wrangle it with the kids but I will tell you there is a place called the Playhouse Cafe in Lemoyne, PA which is across the river from Harrisburg and they have a system where you pay for the kids to be in a playroom while mom’s can work/chat/lunch or whatever…bet they would work out a deal.

Crystal October 8, 2011 at 7:20 pm

All spaces are now filled, so the sign-up is closed. Thank you for the venue information. We actually already have a place reserved, but I appreciate the additional input and ideas!

Paula October 9, 2011 at 6:39 am

Hope you all have a great time! Very excited for those of you able to attend – and Crystal, how generous of you to take some of your precious time out for your faithful readers! What a nice gal!

Angela October 9, 2011 at 11:10 am

When you come to California, you need to have your meeting at Peet’s!

Robin October 9, 2011 at 4:53 pm

I know thw meetup is full but if anyone backs out please let me know!!! I didn’t get online yesterday due to my Dad having surgery and my SIL getting hit by a car. It was not a good day.

Melanie October 12, 2011 at 7:38 am

How come I did not see this sooner!! There a new coffee place they roast it on site Little Amps, but it is away from the downtown. Finding a parking spot could be tough, but the coffee would be worth it.

Crystal October 12, 2011 at 7:40 am

We already have a venue reserved, but thanks so much for the suggestion!

Janelle October 17, 2011 at 10:11 pm

That is so cool that you will be “here” – too bad that I missed the sign up! If anyone cancels, please keep me in mind!

Crystal October 18, 2011 at 7:45 am

Email me. We had a few cancellations and I have a couple of open spots. moneysavingmom @ gmail.com I hope it works out for you to make it!
