It says in the fine print that the $5 is good toward credit on their site to purchase a magazine subscription. Don’t think you get $5 cash!
You can request a check instead of using it as credit. But you have to fill out the form with your code for it to work.
It also says “Complete the form below to redeem your gift card for cash. All requests subject to approval. Check will be mailed within 4 to 8 weeks. US residents only.”. So, yeah…it does sound like you get a check
This works- I have received several checks in the past.
