LOVE IT! Needed to hear that.
Thanks for posting these inspirational quotes! I enjoy them!
I have been loving these! Thank you. Just went back to school, which took a lot of courage (and faith) to lose sight of the shore. Your quote reminds me of one of my faves… “Ships in the harbor are safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.” – John Shedd
My husband just accepted a job in California. So this month we’ll be moving from Maryland to California. The song that keeps running through my head is by Steven Curtis Chapman, “Burn the ships; we’re here to stay. There’s no way we can go back now that we’ve come this far by faith. Burn the ships; we’ve passed the point of no return. Our life is here so let the ships burn.” Thanks for the great quotes!
Another variation on this quote is “One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time” by Andre Gide. Someone gave me a card with that quote for my high school graduation. Thirteen years later, that quote has now been with me to 5 different continents as I’ve reached out to unreached people groups with the love of Christ.
